He's only 21 now, can hardly have disappeared at such a young age. Lot of people have high hopes for him.
RVP made a statement that he wanted to go... he did not refuse to turn up for training once the season had started ... bale said nothing and did refuse to train... hence the statement by Levy. Bale was injured 3 months into his spurs career and was out injured for almost 10 months...when he came back in Sept 2008 he took forever to regain his form which finally returned in Feb 2010. While spurs got great amount from Bales performances he was well supported by us. Our weakness last season was due to us basing our team around Bale so when he didn't play well or was marked out of games (at the beginning of the season) we dropped points and when he was injured we struggled. This season is dependent on how the team gels. Final point...Bale look tragically shallow snogging the RM badge this morning...his behaviour in the final week or so has sadly tarnished his image...I'm a spurs fan not a fan of individual players as they are in general out for themselves but players behaving like this (and he is by no means the worst...look at Carrick, Berbatov, Keane, Modric) do disillusion young fans.
I can understand where Levy is coming from though I wouldn't think its classy to make that statement.
I've got a feeling Spurs have wasted a lot of money this window. Not KK style but still 100m for that lot, and not a marquee player like Ozil in sight
They've added decent guys but you're right not a World Class. Still its been a good window but 100 million is a bit much (then again they robbed Madrid blind so they can afford it)
He was 19 then, people have made mistakes about teenagers before... http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...Adams-told-Arsenal-Dont-sign-Gareth-Bale.html EDIT - i've only just seen SpursDisciples post #41!
not even isco?! =D yeah from what i can gather, a lot of RMassive are sore that getting bale = losing ozil. i think they wanted to have their cake and eat it too, but methinks this being a world cup year = more players willing to step out and prove themselves as "the guy" on a team (see gustavo to wolfsburg) as opposed to being squad depth on a seemingly-legitimate worldbeater.
This thread is brilliant. I enjoyed it a lot. At least most of the posters over here are decent folk it seems.
Seems Levy tried to stop the Ozil deal from happening by phoning Perez yesterday. This is according to El Confidencial.
The conspiracy therorists were out in force last night suggesting that Ozil was a done deal a week ago, even going as far as saying that he was smuggled in, had a medical at Colney and even did a photoshoot. Arsenal desperate to ensure Tottenham didn't find out about the deal through fear of Levy pulling the plug on Bale's sale meaning Madrid would then look to keep Ozil.
I have another conspiracy theory. It's funny how late the deal was announced last night and then you were able to buy Ozil shirts online from 11-00pm.There were photos on Twitter yesterday afternoon of Ozil shirts being printed at one of the club shops.I'm not usually a cynic but.....................
If they ever hit the media it'll only be to rub Tottenhams nose in it. Didn't Tottenham and Madrid put a partnership/agreement in place re transfers after the Modric debacle ?
The spuds have been setting up a petition today to try and end the 'special relationship' with Real And the little shyster Levy did apparently phone Perez to try and prevent us from buying Ozil http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...attempt-to-block-Mesut-Ozil-s-move-to-Arsenal Serves him right that he lost the NLD, then Bale on the same day, which enabled us to buy Ozil
Just shows Levy is smart. Can you really see gazidis phoning someone up begging them not to sell a certain player?
