ARSENAL AFTER BA?

France football writer Matt Spiro reports: "Arsenal have opened talks with Chelsea over the possibility of signing Demba Ba on loan, France Football magazine are reporting on their website. They say Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has tabled a bid to secure the loan of the Senegal striker, who recently held talks with Jose Mourinho over his future."

 

So it looks like - Ba on loan, Ozil on permanent and the Palermo keeper on Loan. Need a CB and it would be a good window, late but still good. Di Maria would make it perfect (though I can't see Madrid selling more than one player to anyone).

 

Apparently if we get Ozil we wont be going after Di Maria

"Arsenal have agreed a 50m euros deal with Real Madrid to sign Germany midfielder Mesut Ozil.

"The 24-year-old has agreed personal terms and will now undergo a medical.

"The medical will take place in Germany, where Ozil is on international duty."

I can see that buying both would leave us slightly over-stocked on attacking players when injuries clear up. And tbh if we get Ozil i'll be over the moon. Getting both would be something very special.

If we don't go for Di Maria as well as Ozil then i'd say its highly likely we will be signing a Striker. Ba, Torres, Rooney, Hernandez? Who knows.

 

Ornstein is about as close as you can get to confirmation without it actually being on the Arsenal site..

 

This deal actually looks liek it's going to happen.... Come on Wenger, blow us all away!

 

David Ornstein said Ozil personal terms are in place, just medical needs to happen. Conflicting reports about where that will take place Not signed yet.

SSN are reporting that despite tieing up a deal for Ozil we are still working hard to get Di Maria as well. Which seems to contradict other reports that we are backing off Di Maria due to landing Ozil.

Today is going to be very interesting...

 

I'd rather we sign a striker than di Maria. We're weak in that area. Jeremy Wilson of Telegraph seems to think we'll get at least one more player apart from Ozil and Viviano.

 

Ba won't come to us. Chelsea won't sell/loan to a Champion's League place rival.

 

That probably depends how highly Mourinho rates him. Another option is to get Torres.

 

Why's no one gone for Jackson Martinez? Probably would be too late for Porto to get a replacement now

 

Torres would be a good option, i'm sure Torres is desperate to get first team football as there is a long list of strikers at Chelsea.

Also Sky rumoured that we're bidding £35m for both Michu and Williams.

 

Right, this is no good for my health! I'm going to go and smoke a spliff, watch something non-football related and then come back online in an hour or so to see whats going on.

Hopefully we will have confirmation of the Viviano and Ozil deals (and maybe the Bendtner stuff) and be moving on to our next deals.

I have an image in my head of Wenger, Gazidis and Law rushing around like mad men, knocking over coffee, screaming down phones, hair a mess - good times lol

 

Torres, Michu and Williams would all be decent additions to the squad i think.

I cant see Michu being available at any reasonable price this late in the window
