This is pretty comprehensive. And gives a fair reasoning into why Lionel is better http://messivsronaldo.net/
I think Messi and Ronaldo arew very similar as in they do very well for their respective clubs, but both fail to transfer that skill when they play for their country
They used to, but both recently have started showing their form for their countries. Messi moreso, his successive hat tricks against Brazil and Switzerland showed his true ability. Ronaldo has 40 in 105, and Messi has 35 in 82 - great records at international level.
amazing! Bale has only got 1 foot. I heard that Ronaldo was a bit pissed that he is no longer the world record transfer.
But when have they stood out in the Tournaments. Messi hasnt stood out in any world cups yet (I dont know what the south american equivelent of the Euro's is, sorry) and the last time I think CR7 stood out in a comp was Euro 2004
Ronaldo did really well in Euro 2012. Joint top scorer. Single handedly took Portugal to the semi finals with his performances. Not sure about the Copa America, so don't know how Messi played in the last one of that.
Name a player that does replicate their form from their clubs? I think you'd struggle to find that many "stars" that do. You have an argument for Spain, Germany, Holland, the teams that have had success recently.
Thanks for that. I haven't drilled into all the data therein contained, so forgive me if I spout rubbish hereafter.... That's pretty conclusive at the individual Messi vs Ronaldo level.... However, the bottom line will always be, how did the individuals performances manifest in the success of the team(s) they played for ? In Messi vs Ronaldo, it'll always be goals + assists and league points or cup progress resulting from those numbers. Suppose you could always throw in "defensive tackles preventing the opposition scoring....but for these two lads, lets say they're equal ?
Please don't use **** logic like that. Just because the man is a dick doesn't mean he is no good. On that basis, Ronaldo is no good, as he's an arrogant git.
