... the most stupidest and longest transfer saga ever is over. Bale has finally joined Madrid for a world record £86m. Now the media, after tomorrows unveiling, might finally stop ****ing going on about him. Fair play to the lad though. Was best player in the Prem last year imo.
He's in that level below alongside players like Pirlo, Van Persie, and Falcao for me. No player is near those two as of this moment.
Putting aside the arguments about no one is worth the money, how bale is worth more than pirlo is beyond me.
I personally prefer Pirlo. Though I have always preferred a midfield playmaker. For example, Zidane > Messi in my opinion. Zidane is my fave player ever, just ahead of Stuart Elliott and Del Piero.
I agree that Messi is better than Ronaldo, but he isn't a league away, so to speak. Bale will probably score a good few, but it all depends on how he settles in. He has the ability as proven, it all depends on his mentality.
6 year deal as well. Most of Real Madrid is probably on wages similar to that. Ronaldo is probably on 400k a week.
6 years x 300 k/wk x 52 (?) = approx 93.4 million. Can't blame the lad one bit. Everything else Bale's by comparison, including Messi & Ronaldo.
This is very interesting - the progression of the world record fee: please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Real going a bit mental recently... Lot of Italians club involved on both sides a well.
I read somewhere that since Real won the Champions League in 2002, they have spent £1bn in transfers!
