Just wished that low Cazorla free kick would have gone in, because for me that would be the goal of the season so far. Such a brilliant attempt from our little genius.

Arsenal deserved the win today - outplayed us all over the park. Was quite impressed with your defending too considering all the stick your lot get.

I predicted a defeat for us - can't add 7+ players to a squad in quick succession and expect the squad to gel. You may not have signed anyone but your first XI is more tight at the moment so it's stronger.

I look forward to the return match later in the season - our squad will have gelled by then - then we'll have a real game <grr>

It was a real game today <ok> and for all the stick that even some of our own fans give us, we've done really well this season, after the villa result. I thought we looked more together and hungrier than Spurs today, I don't know how much having new players affected your team, but to be honest, spending what you have, you'd expect their quality to override that. I can't help thinking you've paid a hell of a lot for what you've got, nearly thirty million on Soldado ? Maybe he needs time to settle, but he doesn't have the touch of a thirty million striker for me.

Let's see what Wenger can do tomorrow in the window, we're rumored to be in advanced talks with Ozil. If we can add one or two more, then I think we'll see of Spurs again this season. If we spend anywhere near what Spurs have done, I'd be fairly confident that we'd bring in far better talent than what spurs have had to offer so far.

damned good sport old chap .

I bet those of you on that board that predicted a defeat were in the minority .
I think a few got carried away with unrealistic expectations of just what impact your NEW players would have .

Wishfull thinking is fine , but saying it aloud means you can end up with egg on your face.

If we spend as much as Spurs have done, i'd consider us title contenders. Obviously that won't happen, given who's running the show.

Arsenal pulled off a thoroughly professional job on Spurs yesterday, I don't think they hardly, if any, made any mistakes. Wenger got his tactics on the button and the team as a whole, battled together, hurried Spurs when not in possession and went forword with real efficiency and purpose. Arsenal showed their experience and made it count. Two players stood out for me and that was Kos and Giroud, but it was Kos that stole the show for me. He showed grit and determination at the back and made some key interceptions when neccessary. He kept new boy Soldado very quiet, which is a sign of a CB coming to the peak of his game. But of course, Kos wouldn't have been able to be so effective if it wasn't for our industrious midfield. Ramsey had a very good game and everyone kept a tight defensive ship. This is the kind of performance that we need to maintain and be consistent at. Flamini also slotted in nicely and showed what an important signing he was from Wenger, coming at the right time to cover. One word of warning about Kos, If he hasn't already been given a new contract, sign him up to another one asap as if he keeps this level of performace going all season, teams will be coming sniffing guaranteed.

Spurs on the other hand looked like a team that was not ready. AVB has yet to pick their proper first 11 and they have yet to have two of there major signings play and intergrate into the team (Limela only had a few minutes). They lack creativity and that was down to AVB not selecting his proper first 11. They did show glimpses of potential, especially Capoue, who looked impressive up until Cazorla fell on his leg. They also had long spells where they dominated possession, which showcased the power of their new midfield. Once the players starting gelling, then Spurs will go on a long run. They just came across a better team that got everything spot on.

Well we WILL spend more than Spurs. Their net spending is about £25 m. I expect us tp double it.

It doesn't matter what you spend it's the quality of player that counts,QPR & Newcastle proved that last season and don't forget the stupid money that was spent on Torres & Andy Carrol in the past

Good win for you guys yesterday. Showed some real fight towards the end of the second half, bodies on the line and all that. Shows how naive/presumptious everyone who wrote your whole side off after the first game were.

Good luck with deadline day, Ozil would be a great addition for you, top player. <ok>

I thought Ramsey was close to being MOTM yesterday, he was everywhere on the pitch. Defending, tackling, covering, making runs, pushing us forward, creating chances and taking shots. Really good performance, he's becoming a really good all round player and a key part of this Arsenal team - and still only 22 years old

No 'steel' maybe, but certainly the ability to dominate in midfield and defence.

We played a great game defensively. We closed down, harried and kept our shape really well. It was a very disciplined performance.

I just managed to watch the highlights of the game.

Looked like a really good game with nicely worked attacks despite there not being as many goals as the average NL derby. I don't think I saw a single touch by Giroud which wasn't weighted perfectly. Like we saw early in the last season with his link-up play, he really is quite a good footballer despite his size (and despite relying on his strong leg a bit too much). If his confidence carries on and he keeps on with his work-rate he can do much better this season.

Szczesny's save from that deflected shot could have been pretty crucial as well, even though in all Arsenal had the better chances to score.
