Daniel Levy has revealed his bitterness at Gareth Bale joining Real Madrid, by saying that he wasn't committed to the cause. Here's his full statement:

He should have just stuck to the last sentence, 'we wish Gareth all the best' instead of going off on a rant about Bale's commitment and Real's interest. It just shows him to be a bitter little man. Bale gave the spuds six years of his career, he stuck with them when they were playing Europey football and getting hammered 5-2 by the Arsenal. Even when the spuds failed to qualify for the CL again last year Bale stuck by them. The player had obviously outgrown the spuds and Levy would have been holding back his career by holding him hostage. In the end Levy got a whopping eighty five million for him.

Little spiv should show some gratitude to what Bale gave the spuds and some gratitude to Real for giving them so much money for him to help rebuild their squad. Not that it helped them in the NLD of course and maybe Levy is bitter at losing again to the mighty Arsenal again, but he should show some decency instead of acting like a petulant little bitch.

I thought Levy was actually the big winner in this duel with Real. There's no way Bale will be as good as he was last season, and when their current side gels, they'll be better for it.

There's no way you can sell your best player and not suffer for it, as was demonstrated today <ok>

We did better as a team when we sold RVP.

Personally I think it's a fantastic statement that sends out the message of "we don't sell our best players, we're building something great here."

Absolutely no idea why you feel the need to use such harsh and frankly offensive language about him. If an Arsenal player refused to turn up to training to push through a deal I think you'd have a completely different view of it.

    What a completely ridiculous article.

I wouldn't disagree with that, despite the predictions of doom that some people had when he was sold. But as far as Levy is concerned, if he's come out better for it, don't you think he should show a bit more class and humility? rather than running Bale and Real down. After all, Bale gave him six years and Real gave him a bucket load of cash

Agree with Bonstar here, you are being cruel for cruelties sake. If Gazidis said this when RVP left you would have lauded him, but because it is Spurs you are trying to use it as abuse. When we have just beaten them this seems a pointless article to wum them about.

I think Levy and Spurs have done fantastically to be honest. Nobody is worth that much money, and Bale surely isn't.

That's why I'm surprised that he hasn't had a bit more humility about the sale.

To get 85 million for a 40 million player (at best) is brilliant business

This statement had to happen BECAUSE they sold their best player. It explains that they didn't want to, but needed to to not harm the team due to his attitude. Levy has, as usual, done exceptionally well in this. He's negotiated a world-record fee, invested the income already, and come out of it looking like a man who knows what he's doing & is running a good ship. For that, I applaud him.

I just think it was completely unnecessary to talk about Gareth Bale's attitude when he's just given six years to the club and given them everything during that time. He could have just said that they wish him all the best and leave it at that. After all, as you say, he's just milked Real for probably double what he's worth.

By that thought process - every single Arsenal fan is bitter about RVP, including you, and should shut up about it. It was a wum, a bad one at that, and you have not got the reaction you were hoping for. Let it go.

Levy should be thanking Bale for managing to get Levy that amount of money. The most insane deal in the history of football.

That's a contender for sure, but this one edges it for me.

Liverpool absolutely mugged Chelsea at the time for Torres, and then went and spent the majority of it on Carroll
