BTW, I want to congratulate Sky Sports on their coverage so far. No one taking a pop at us, what a delightful change.
I didn't like this Spurs kit at first but now I think it's a very classy one. A bit like a good music track, one that grows on you lasts forever.
Whoops spoke too soon, an Arsenal analyst with Martin Tyler - BOOOOOOO to Sky Hi Deedub, re the kit like you I didn't like at first, but it ain't bad I have to say.
JD would be useful here. Wheelchair looks finished. Edit: As predicted, Wheelchair is off, best thing to happen to that **** bag. Why didn't Wenger have the common sense to rest him for a few weeks?
Jesus, the way we are playing we look like a bunch of goons, too much passing, too much possession, not incisive enough. We look like a bunch of strangers.
So we lost the NLD. Pretty disappointing in fact. A scrappy match which could have gone either way. We probably played the better football but the team was too new and didn't gel. It is not the end of the world, we will improve, However, it would have nice to put one over on that lot. It took a pretty top notch finish to separate the two sides although Daws has probably got to ask himself a few questions re playing the goons on side for their goal. Nevertheless, we should have been able to break them down a couldn't. They were solid but pretty average and we will come up at least a dozen better sides this season. There has to be lessons to be learnt. We dropped one man out of midfield when Defoe came on and we were still far superior in the middle, did we actually need to start with only one striker? There were a few plusses. Danny Rose was not destroyed by Walnut as many had predicted. He did rather well in fact. I think we have to learn from the match and move on. I'm still disappointed, we lost to a decidedly average side but I think many of us thought beforehand that this match might have come a couple too early, I'm looking forward to the return at thee lane, from what I saw they are not going to win a lot this year.
stop talking to your self , theres no one hear to read your fanciful witterings . TEN posts to yourself , hilarious . lol
Well you've just read them. Or at least counted them. Based on what I've just seen there's a few bragging rights for you to harp on about but on the balance of play, unless you bring in a few players, you ate going to struggle. Today reminded me of us losing away to teams like Blackburn or Bolton. Average sides that we fail to break down. I see a lot to give me hope for the future so I'm not too distraught, despite the disappointment.
We were well below par today, Arsenal probably deserved the victory. Our service to Soldado was worrying. Luckily we've got Eriksen now hopefully get the through balls into Soldado and the wing forwards, Dembele will definitely be the one to lose his place to Eriksen I reckon, he's been very average (that's being kind) and I can't see him getting the nod over Paulinho and Sandro/ Capoue (really hope he's ok, though think it's a bad one to be honest) for CM positions. To look at it positively though, as much as the result hurts, we had a team with 4 players making only their 3rd league appearance for us, 2 who'd returned from loan spells last season, without our first choice CB & DM plus Lamela getting 15 mins after only joining on Friday and yet we wasn't outplayed away from home by a team who finished 4th last season and who'd been together for a good year. We now have just under 2 weeks (taking international matches into consideration) to allow the players to get to know one another and come Norwich, I think we'll see a much better performance. With a potential team when all fit of: Lloris, Walker, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Rose (or new LB) Sandro, Paulinho Lamela, Eriksen, Chadli/ Townsend Soldado Plus the likes of Dembele, Capoue, Holtby and co to have on the bench AND if Levy does indeed have anymore surprises for tomorrow, we can be very excited about our season ahead. Yes today was a blip but perhaps a necessary blip to now get the players to train and work even harder to ensure games like today don't happen too often. Lets just pray Etienne's injury isn't as bad as it looks.
Annoying that the site was unavailable for most of the afternoon but as we lost maybe not a bad thing!! I'm not too disappointed at all. The game could have gone either way. If anything we were like the home team and they were hitting us in the break. Fair play to Giroud, quality finish. I am very confident going forward especially if Arsenal do fail to sign any more players. Hopefully this result will make Wenger think they don't need too! It's vital we win our next match to get back on track and it will still have been a good start. I hope Lamela and Eriksen make more chances/give better support to Soldado as he is going to have a very difficult season if he is left so isolated.
Fully deserved win for Arsenal although Lloris was by far the best player on the pitch. Spurs still haven't replaced Modric, struggled to create. Wenger tactically outdid AVB (again). Positives for both sides, both will get better as the season progresses but I have my concerns over AVB's tactics.
Arsenal were the better team today and deserved the 3 points. Spurs didnt turn up at all and arsenal were worthy winners. All went off after the game, on the road by the train stn by the away end. (is it drayton park?). Good few hundred idiots went at it for a good 2/3 minutes before the mounted plod turned up. Looked quite nasty from where I was stood.
