Should we be petitioning the club for a standing area, safe standing even. I think this would greatly increase the atmosphere. I think Villa are going to trial it?

Going to thr club will gwet you no where. It is a bigger issue than that. And an issue that won't even be seriously considered for many years yet.

Would definitely help the atmosphere but like Indestructible said it's not as simple as the club deciding to stick in a standing area. Which is unfortunate because it would help make the SoL a fortress

Crowd participation creates atmosphere, and it makes not a happeth of difference whether people stand or sit..The lack of atmosphere at the SoL is simply down to having lots of spectators who are not willing to put in the effort to support the team when the chips are down.

Yeah they expect because we're at home that the team should win regardless so when they see the team doing badly instead of getting behind them they moan which is only going to have a negative impact on our performance

Gonna disagree Reg. (Been awhile. :p )

Standing makes all the difference, you feel like you're part of something special a single mass moving and chanting as one.
There isn't another feeling like it in the World.
I still get shivers up my spine just remembering certain cold wintry nights in the Fulwell, **** on the pitch and the warmth of a shared passion shoulder to shoulder with like minded marras singing our hearts out.
My best mate when young didn't like the constant buffeting and mind numbing noise, ended up in the Clockstand with his Dad. Me I loved it.
Seating makes everyone an individual and doesn't make them feel part of a group.
It takes extra effort to get any sort of decent kinship.
Plus when the fusspots get seats in the same areas as ones who want to enjoy the whole experience and not just sit and clap politely, the fusspots complain.
