We probably need another passing/creative midfielder as back-up to Huddlestone, if he gets injured then we could unravel a bit but we've started the season very well and agree with the comments about Aluko doing well, also Savages criticism of our strikers tonight on MOTD was over the top given the teams we've played and the ten man game.

Really? If we're going to bring in anyone it has to be a striker, central midfield options of Huddlestone, Livermore, Quinn, Koren, Meyler and even Boyd makes that probably our strongest position. We need a quality striker, it's very simple, it's finding one that's affordable and willing to come that may prove difficult.

Alukos not really a finisher, he's made some gruesome misses that could rival mcleans worst during his time with us, open goals from 4 yards and the lot. His role is mostly creating them and giving defences a nasty 90 minutes which he does fantastically.

I think Graham will be alright for us in the goal scoring department, Sagbo doesn't seem much of a predator more a battering ram, so I wouldn't mind another finisher coming in, maybe with a bit more pace than Graham. If Fryatts off on an adventure we definitely need another goal scorer in da house.

Sagbos not had a run yet (his own fault) I just think that if Hudd got injured we might be a bit limited in the middle (also am a great fan of Roberts but he is getting on). Wouldn't say no to a striker of course if one comes but some of the stuff I've heard about the ones we have is maybe a bit OTT as I explained.

Should be cheeky and tell Spurs we will sign Livermore for X if we get Defoe on loan. I don't really think a) they'd release Defoe, or b) Defoe will come btw

On a more realistic note Le Fondre is a more realistic option

typical hull city fan so quick to praise a player when on song and even quicker to turn on them when making one mistake , hang your head in shame or if it makes you feel better sell him on your football manager game !

Neither Graham or Sagbo have been given a chance.
I wouldn't spend a lot of money on a new striker, maybe somebody on loan to replace Fryatt.

I would like to see Quinn on the left and Brady up front if Aluko is injured.

European loan is an option, no?

Am I reading too much into this or does this potentially make him our number one target?

Would love us to sign Livermore* now and then get Ba or Defoe** on loan........

    A man can dream!

*obviously including a release clause for if we get relegated
** we could become Spurs reserves (better than Leicester reserves a couple of seasons ago!)

Yes but don't forget he has tipped us for relegation so is not likely to give us any compliments. Can't wait to prove him wrong.

I've never understood why one of the stats lads hasn't compiled a profile of the various pundits predictions and then held them up for scrutiny when the season ends - how well do they earn their dosh?

I'm more confident of Graham after yesterday, he seems to be getting into his stride.

Aluko is a real class act, one miss doesn't change that.

With Fryatt going, Mclean already being told to find a new club and Proschwitz being written off, we hav no option but to bring in at least one new striker by Monday.

Would very much like us to make a play for Defoe, even on big money. No one can deny that we need more goals to stay up, arguably. If we stay up, we'd recoup a lot of the fee for Defoe. Like a lot are saying, the Owners must be looking at the team thinking we're one quality striker away from pushing for mid-table - and no I don't think that's over the top to be saying. If we had a striker who could score 10-15 goals in the team I would think we were near certainties to stay up, and Defoe would be that player without doubt.

Defoe won't do as the striker for a team such as ours. A team that dominates games like spurs can afford to carry a player who does nothing but sniff around the goal, but we need a striker to put a shift in, hold the ball up and help link up play.

If we were to get a player like Defoe, I think it'd mean playing 2 up front.
