yes, and as S or S says he is a gem of a player and has a great 1st touch, vision and would get you at least 10 goals a season given the service
Well I've predicted a 3-1 loss for this match Reasoning: Our players are still gelling Arsenal's first XI is still very good - Walcott, Giroud, Cazorla and Ramsey are all playing very well at the moment It's at the Emirates It's a London Derby so form goes out the window If I get the result wrong (not the score - we could lose 4-1) then I'm happy Arsenal are a bit injury plagued at the moment but they've still got plenty to hurt us. This could be the weekend where Rose gets found out (and could push us to get Coentrao if he's awful). Team I'd pick (4-3-3) - Lloris, Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Rose, Paulinho, Dembele, Capoue, Lennon, Soldado, Townsend I hope we can beat them obviously but we've lost the last couple there heavily so I'm inclined to stick with the bad results.
Sensible comments from Townsend in the build up http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11675/8898821
Surprised there's not more posts in this thread. I'm really looking forward to the game, and can't wait to see who AVB selects, then how things pan out. A draw and we'll be top 4, and three points up on the corresponding games last season.
What's all this talk of draws? Where's the glory in a draw? This is the NLD. Only a win will do. AVB could pick player numbers out a hat and we'd still have a team capable of beating the goons.
There'd be plenty of glory in a draw. AVB could pick numbers out of a hat and we'd still have a team capable of losing to Arsenal. Arsenal are favourites and rightly so, I'd take a draw now no danger. I disagree that only a win will do, a draw will do me very nicely indeed.
I said a draw at first but now I'm not so sure. We created chances against Palace and Swansea but only scored by penalties and I still feel that when we get that first goal in open play a lot more will follow. I'm going for an away win tomorrow. We haven't conceded yet so I can't see three going past us Moorpheus.
please log in to view this image I'm really looking forward to today's game. On paper, we should beat them but we've not had too happy a time of it at the Emirates in the past few years. I think this game will be won or lost in the midfield, so I have to fancy Spurs. Soldado to show his class today. 2-0 to Spurs then.
I think it will be a game of high drama but low scoring by the standards of our recent trips to south London. 1-1 is my fancy for the actual score.
Hoping we line up: Lloris Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Rose Paulinho Sandro Dembele Townsend Soldado, Lennon Lennon and Townsend can swap as they please but I think Lennon might be more suited to playing on the left for this one. The important thing is to keep the ball even if it means making one of those rather pointless sideways runs where you cut inside and kind of skim across the defence and Lennon's pace will mean he can do that all day against their slower defence. I've seen some mention Vertonghen at left back but I don't like that, he goes charging forward and doesn't trackback properly, at least with Rose you know he'll be busting a gut to get back and if he doesn't Vertonghen can move across whilst Sandro slots into defence.
Rose is the only option at left back for me today. He's the only one who even stands a remote chance of dealing with walcotts pace. It's the area on the we've got to keep a close eye on today. Walcott is going to cause problems for us all game.
I thought Lennon has a foot injury Heard nothing that indicates either way if he will play, but we now have cover for that position now so not overly worried.
Always Roo always. Last season we had a severely weakened team this one is different. I am just interested to see how Arsenal will cope with our midfield.
I'm interested to see our bench today. It's amazing knowing that we actually have some depth and a few game changers. Nervous as ever for the game, but cannot wait to see our new boys show us what they've got. A big big day for everyone and a chance for the new players to gain a lot of love from the fans.
