Was saying on the live game v Palace that they were trying to shift him and he'll be out the door by the deadline.
Thought that for a while, we need someone with pace to get behind the line that can also finish and he seems to fit those requirements as well as being relatively cheap
We need a proven PL striker, not another punt on a lower league striker that 'might come good', we've already got Sagbo for that. Rodallega, Bendtner, Vaz Te, Anichebe - any would do, in an ideal world any 2. Plus Graham and Sagbo gives us 4 options assuming Fryatt/McLean and Prossy all leave.
I know it's easier said than done but we need to shift our 2nd string strikers. As it stands it's like Ferrari having a road car as a back up car for F1, its decent enough but completely pointless at the level at which they need to operate. Bin them, take a hit take a loss and then buy what we need. Please not another season where all our if only's and maybe's are linked to the problem we've had for years. Part of me today even thinks yes it's brilliant to have Huddlestone, but would it've been better to get in that Guedioura from forest and now have £5/£6 mill for a striker.
But if the straight was long enough the road car would win, and its a marathon not a sprint... An F1 engine needs rebuilding every race (I think), a road car would last the season. Fryatt is easily a good enough 3rd choice backup, the question is, are the first 2 good enough? I personally think bringing in anyone better than what we have will be tough, no one will come unless we guarentee them the starting place every game, and it will be tough enough then. That will leave Saggers and Graham twiddling their thumbs. I'm saying it again, if we are to get only one more, I'd like a right footed fast skilful winger/forward like aluko and Brady.
Bit of a curveball, but what about going for Jay Rodriguez? He won't play that often with £15m Osvaldo and Lambert ahead of him.
I think they'd still want to recoup most of the £7m or so they paid for him. But I did think the same, Burnley fans think he was a much better all round player than Austin.
it was proven last season that Brady can play up top. maybe we don't need to splash out on a new striker. just put Brady up top.
True, but the ones you've recommended are hardly proven are they? At least Wells is in goalscoring form and so has confidence high at the minute. I'm not sure those players (perhaps barring Bendtner and Rodallega) are going to score consistantly. Bendtner is sort of proven, but he's hardly reliable.
How do we get a 10 to 15 goal striker for the premiership it must be so difficult for SB, we can't get in a loan and how much as he to offer, it really would make the difference to add that extra decent forward because we really look a good football team. Monday we will know if we have got anyone lets hope we do
Bruce has messed up with his loan slots moving into deadline day. Not picking on any player individually, but it really removes an option for us Spotted the mention of a £2m move for Bradfords strikers. WTF just stop posting....
I don't really understand how he has messed up the loan spots. We have a striker who looked really good today and a young England international filling the other one. I think he's made some really good loan signings.
I think 'messed up' is a bit strong but I get your point. Who knows who might become available on loan from the PL but we are strictly operating in the buy market. Hopefully it doesn't limit our options. I've pulled my socks on especially tight, so it's gonna take some going to blow them off.
