I was glad to hear Robbie Savage say we have no decent strikers, I bet they will be desperate to prove him wrong. A pretty harsh comment from him given we have played two games versus Man City and Chelsea and one match with our striker sent off. Aluko made his chance today too even if the finish was off.
He's right though. Aluko is a good player but a ****e striker because like everyone we play up front he can't shoot from close in. Graham can shoot but might struggle to get into the positions often enough. I hope I'm wrong but I think Sagbo is going to be a failure. We need another striker.
But he wouldn't have got on the end of the pass as Graham did yesterday, with the offside attempt. Surely he'd have tried to tee it up before his shot?
This forms part of a bigger discussion about why we don't score more goals. How many chances has Graham had this season? How many have we created? Is the real problem the lack of expertise of our strikers or is it the fact that we create very few chances for them?
I think, to be fair, it's both. But, going by his obvious improvement yesterday, Graham might answer on question.
Get to **** He's ****e at one on ones. This **** fest that some people have about MF is bizarre. Sharp mind, blunt feet. Decent Championship striker but not PL.
No you get to ****. He scored plenty of one on ones (forgotten Forest away?). Sharp mind, clinical finisher. Not a greyhound, not a battler- but a proper finisher.
Seriously? A lot of his goals for us were one-on-ones. Blunt feet my arse. Great finisher more like. He'll score loads if he goes somewhere like Forest, guaranteed.
Considering scoring between 12-15 in a season at that level is usually classed as 'good', i'd say yes.
I would class that as good, I wouldn't class it as loads. I can't see him being a 20+ goal a season striker in the championship.
He put away the chances we did create, unlike some... It's a big 'what if', but if he had been fit all last season, he would have scored 20+.
