I would have had him in our starting 11 tomorrow. He is a good footballer with his only weakness being his tackling. It's our loss and your gain.
I was never one to slag the lad off, he works his socks off. The life blood of any striker is delivery, he got none here. I noticed the same problem on the early match he was making good runs and totally ignored. The difference we have in Fletcher is he willing to graft back and try to make things happen. Much better all round player than Graham. But we will still need to get the ball to him.
That's perhaps why it's loan deal ... after Graham, they're going try before they buy ..... we should have done that with WBA
JDG is called up but I very much doubt he will be selected for the WC. Sneijder, Strootman, VdV, Wijnaldum and Maher will probably go. Maher isn't having the best of season starts and if he stays in his current form Van Gaal might drop him, if so, he got a chance.
