feels great doesn't it? All I've asked of our club, is that we could make a net spend that remotely competes with our rivals. But the club have done better than that. For once, we're losing a top player (as usual), but we've made some unbelievable signings to mitigate the damage it has caused us in the past. once bale leaves, our spend is pretty much nothing, and apparently there's 2-3 names still to come in. It's been an absolutely incredible transfer window. I can't believe we've pulled this off.
Has to be Soldado purely on the basis he ought to score a large number of goals. Apart from Bale last year, Spurs haven't had a high scoring forward for a few years.
Haha mate I'm literally buzzing. It's only taken about 18 months for the club to listen to us but we got there in the end!
Soldado for me. I wasn't sure about him but he's looked to get involved in play and move the ball about, which isn't what I was expecting. The potential to finally have our 20+ goal a season striker has got to be the most exciting signing we could've made, in my opinion. The likes of Lamela, Eriksen, Chiriches, Chadli and Capoue I expect to grow into the team over the course of the season so Paulinho would be my second choice as he just looks like that sort of midfielder that will get us goals without leaving us open at the back.
What's the rules on squad number registrations? Can players change numbers/ be given a number that a previous player had in the same season? If they can, I'd go for: Chiriches - 6 (thanks Hudd) Lamela - 11 (bye Bale) Eriksen - 10 (bye Ade) If not, then: Chiriches - 23 Lamela - 12. Eriksen - 13.
haha it still hasn't sunk in yet. Just gotta hope he shines at spurs, or we are gonna look like total muppets. No idea on registration numbers. if they can be reused, then i think you're first prediction is likely, however, thinking about it, Chiriches might end up with a "20's" number, rather than a first 11 number. I could see 6 going to Eriksen, or possibly Coentrao if we get him. if another striker is coming in, he might get the number 10 shirt. (would love it to be Eriksen's though.) Ideally, number 23 for Eriksen would be my first choice. Fav number an'all that. God, i just need to marry him. I think i've developed a man crush!
Didn't Bale take Rafa's number once he'd left last year? Or did Rafa get moved to 10 and then Ade took it, I can't remember.
I'm confident he'll come good mate, just as long as AVB does give him enough starts. Yeah you're right YV, I'm pretty sure Bale started with 11, Rafa with 10 and Ade was like 25 initially, though when Rafa left he switched to 10. Think he paid for all fans that got Ade & 25 on the back to get it changed to 10 too, nice touch by him it has to be said.
I went for 'other' as to me Hugo is by far our most important player now Bale has gone, and so I expect him to have the most impact. How many points would we now have with Brad or Gomes in for the first two games. My guess would be two, Hugo is an absolute game changer. If Hugo wasn't playing tomorrow I'd expect us to lose, simple as.
Was thinking the same, though I reckon he's serious. Hugo's a major asset, one of the best in the world in his position but to say we'd lose by him simply not playing tomorrow is massively undermining the rest of the squad. Having Hugo in the side will always boost our chances of victory but results won't solely rest on Hugo's involvement.
Most excited about having Sandro back. Unfortunately unless we put in a really good title challenge at a minimum, I think the Real Madrids or Barcalonas of this world will start the tapping up process around Christmas. I think he would walk straight into any team in the world right now and providing he stays injury free he is only going to improve. #Beast

I'm absolutely serious, Hugo is now our most important player. If any other player isn't available we can cover for him, but Hugo is the absolute game changer for us. As I say, without him I'd expect us to lose tomorrow, I wouldn't say that about the absence of any other player.
Hi Deedub, I don't think Sandro would walk into our team let alone any team in the world. I rate Paulinho better than him, and I suspect I will rate Capoue likewise in a few weeks time. I've been pleasantly surprised by how well Sandro has recovered from his appalling injury, and all credit to him. But Paulinho just has more to his game, and if there was only room for one of them in the Brazil team I bet Paulo would get the nod. I suspect Capoue has more to his game too. The athleticism of these guys is something that Sandro couldn't match even pre-injury. I think Sandro will be with us for a while, but if he did get offers from bigger clubs I wouldn't blame him if he left.
