    Canny believe cartman, though.

Aye, Celtic are mentioned in the same breath as Barca, Man U, and Madrid the world over for their style of football. <laugh>

If he was indeed being serious: how delusional can one person get?

Celtic are renowned for playing attacking football. Every time I go abroad people always comment how they like watching Celtic, as they play football the way its meant to be played.

I've got nothing against Celtic, but I've got no idea what kind of football they play or are renowned for playing

The phrase "a victory for football" was coined after Celtics attacking football defeated inter milan to win the European cup in 1967.

That was nearly half a century ago. Arsenal are renowned for playing entertaining football these days, but go back just 20 years and they were known as boring, boring Arsenal.

Maybe Celtic do play good football, I wouldn't know because the only time I see them is against United when they are usually defending for their lives. But I can't really judge them on that basis.

My point is that I don't think there is any global preconception of how Celtic play. If there is one, I'd say it is that they are gutsy and hard-working.

celtic used to be known for attacking football...world over, however, id say that was 60s/70s/early 80s. tommy burns team was known for all out attack but that was hardly world known. Scottish football is so far off the football map, I would say the way celtic play is hardly known outside of Scotland.

I'd say you're probably best known in recent years for your wins over United, Milan and Barcelona. All gritty, workmanlike, backs-to-the-wall performances.

yeah, in Europe, mostly well organised, team work and gritty/workmanlike...especially against bigger teams. however, we played really well, good attacking football, against spartak last eason.

I don't know. I would suggest the side with the least amount of possession yet still win a game in the Champions League would be Celtic.

Of course only a massive spastic would try and define the entire 125 year footballing pedigree of a club by the possession stats of a single 90 minutes.

I can't tell anyone how they should or shouldn't perceive the style of Celtic. I can say what we were renowned for at the height of our fame and powers and that was pure football.

I suppose you just play the way you have to in order to beat the team in front of you. I remember United being pretty cagey against Barca and knocking them out a few years back. When we tried to take them on that their own (ludicrously good) game, we got taken apart.
