    Blanc after PSG's win

"Mamadou Sakho is not at PSG anymore. I wished to continue working with him, but he expressed the desire to leave the club.

"The owners and himself found a solution. I wish him good luck."

    nah... he's blown it.

most sides are being put off by daddy dearest. they feel like they are all going to be used and then he'll want out. we could do with the spare cash mind.

Can't see what point you're making about the team changing when as you say Agger, Johnson and Enrique have been left out?

We've definitely improved from Kenny and Roy.

i guess i should actually make a point then.... that would actually make it make sense, i can see that now.

    1. rodgers has said that he'd build a team round lucas, he said he was building a team round suarez this summer...

    2. gerrard is self evident really.

    3. he's signed now an entire first 11 if he wants it.. whether he picks agger or not... or whether he picks the full backs or not is now HIS choice.

    4. its now rodgers side fully, not dalglishes effort, not hodgson's disaster and not rafa's its his so i don't want to hear anyhting about G&H affecting us like exCOO parry whinged and i don't want to hear any excuses either. I certinly don't want to hear about winning mentality or frailty or any such stuff. Its now time to show what a rodgers side can do.

    5. finally I look forward to seeing what this "rodgers side" can deliver, i really do.

Rodgers has improved players to. Henderson and Enrique especially. He has helped Gerrard reinvent his role in the team and has him looking top of the world and his system players to the strengths of players like Agger, Lucas, Suarez and Johnson.

That's all ok but the disaster that was G&H meant we are still starting from further back than the top 4/5. Although Rodgers has now got a first XI that is his he has had to deal with and bring in players of lesser quality than he would have liked..e.g Allen ,Borini for example, even missing out on Dempsey last year.
It has shown this year that his main targets were unwilling to join us for reasons unknown. Therefore, although its fair to say its his team, it is also fair to say its a team compromised because of circumstances.
It's a five year project. Things are improving but I am willing to give BR more time whatever happens this season.

  10. I was going by your "year 2 of rodgers and you can write a new tram nearly", wasn't picking what I think to be (potentially) our best eleven. Especially since you left Johnson, Enrique and Agger out <ok>

Also, you didn't put any players in bold <ok>

  11. We signed Allen and Borini quite early on, well before we missed out on Siggurdson (I know you didn't mention him) and Dempsey <ok>

I think last summers disastrous signings (maybe a little harsh?) was more to do with BR not having any time with the squad because of the Olympics and Euros.

  13. He has signed ten players so far: Sahin, Allen, Borini, Assaidi, Coutinho, Sturridge, Aspas, Alberto, Toure and Migs. If we managed to get Sakho and Ilori then that makes it twelve but two (Sahin and Assaidi) have left the club since. Therefore, technically speaking, he hasn't signed a entire first eleven, especially when Borini, Alberto, Allen and Ilori probably are not considered part of the strongest eleven, they are squad players.

However, I do agree with your point that the team is now more BR's than before. Assuming we sign Sakho and Ilori, this would be what I consider the strongest line-up:

    Migs
    Johnson - Sakho - Toure - Enrqiue
    Gerrard - Lucas
    Aspas - Suarez - Coutinho
    Sturridge

Six of them are BR signings although I did feel harsh dropping Agger <ok>

Got to admit, I do really like the look of that team. Great spine to it, although does look a little weak down the right.

Maybe so but it's also true that we didn't have the funds to attract top quality players because of G&H and the unforgivable waste of the money from Torres transfer. I would only consider BR's true transfer dealings from January . But as you say the team is still not really fully his.
I like Rodgers, he does go on a bit but that's the Irish in him. The team is Definately improving and lets hope for a successful season
