Aritz Aduriz would score goals IMO. He's getting on a bit, but he's probably what you need. A goalscorer, a mobile target man and someone who can pass it.
I didn't base my "dire" comment particularly on who was on the bench, it was more about the positions available to us. We pretty much had a bench full of defenders which is ridiculous. Bruce must be a laughing stock in the football world. I think Rosenior should be in ahead of Elmo, so would definitely have him on the bench, would have Quinny in there too also, but having Bruce on the bench is nothing more than nepotism and Boyd as our only forwardish player is plain and simple stupidity!! I odn't care how **** Bruce thinks Fryatt and Prozzy are, one of them should be replacing his boy on the bench.
I was really impressed by the way we played today and didn't just roll over. I think Bruce might have something up his sleeve before the window shuts. Bring on Cardiff.
Dudgeon could also make an impact once he's back to match fitness after recovering from his injury. An available bench of Harper, Rosenior, McShane, Dudgeon, Quinn, Meyler, Boyd, and Sagbo is not that bad....hardly dire. Especially if we sign a striker.
I dont like to resort to foul language but shut up you stupid ****. We give a display like that and you come out with ****e.
Bloody hell, Craig, surely you didn't mean that! Have we ever had Sagbo? McShane played well the other night, how about giving him a chance - even off the bench he will be useful in this league. I think that those who posted during the game should read back and cringe with embarrassment; as should the pillocks who took on the mong.
I do think it would have been a different game if we scored after 6 minutes. I think we would have gone into defensive mode, Man City would have gone for all out attack and probably won by a lot more.
Quite worrying.. although we have faced much tougher opposition than nearly all the other teams. Not worried at all by this, as said above we've played 2 very tough away games and lost both, as would most teams... we won our home game though which is probably what we all hoped for when the fixtures came out.
We've given a good account of ourselves against two teams who'll be up there this season, get goal scorer in and we'll be ok.
I don't care that Manc and Chelsea have beaten us......I don't care that we missed chances and have only scored one goal. If I was a fan of Chelsea or Manc, I would have been gutted by the fact we dominated play at times. All that money spent and hardly any difference between the teams at times.
The Manchester Blues fans I've spoken to have been almost apologetic regarding their win. They are concerned the win will mask their problems.
The best part for me was the announcer on NBC saying that he thought that we had the best back line and midfield that he had seen so far this season from any team. He said that it was only our front line that was lacking. That is still saying something.
I bet they thought Huddlestone did really well at Quarterback and Robbie Brady made an excellent Wide Receiver.
