Seemed like only about 25% were booing.
I cheered him as he came on.
    How did it seem elsewhere?

Heard mainly booing from the stream, but cameras focused on clapping fans.

Personally, I think he deserves a booing. Appreciate the f***er when he comes back in another top, before he plays us or/and after... That's the time.

Think of it this way, you clapping him every week didn't factor into the equation when Arsenal came sniffing with their measly coppers, so it's not exactly going to make him stay. He has to earn our respect back.

Given the information put out by the club and certainly Pardew, the boos are 100% justified.

If there's anyone to blame it's the manager for communicating misinformation if that's the case, wouldn't be the first time.

But if it's not the last time we see him, it's done and over with and he'll have to knuckle down and win the respect back.
The fans will cheer him from now on but the point has been rightfully made.

I have to say too many people have said we looked far better with him on the pitch, as that was down to Remy and Gouff more than anything.
When he came on Cabaye was clumsy and doubtlessly rusty, almost costing us a goal from the Ruiz free kick.

He certainly didn't look like a £15-20m player but most of us recognise that already.

The bigger worry for us tonight is Pardew inevitably saying he'll "face a battle to keep hold of Hatem before the window shuts"...

Sounded like more than 25% from where I was sat. Think it was really stupid, way to push him out of the door.
We don't know the full story, I don't trust the cockney mafia or agents as much as I can throw them. Poisonous bunch of cretins.

Like I said... You're clapping clearly isn't of interest to him...

The booing is a pretty strong statement to the rest of the squad, and how we expect our players to behave, even if they are to leave. No other player that we've ever been sad to see leave has ever refused to play, so putting this at the cockney mafia's feet is a bit empty to me.

I'd rather cheer the players on the pitch to try and instil some confidence in them. It was tense enough already. Boo afterwards if your that upset.

All I'm saying is Cabaye gets more stick than mike Ashley and joe Kinnear.

Sounded more 50/50 to me. Certainly where I was sat in the Milburn he was getting it a fair bit. Seems a bit daft to me despite what I might think about his actions. Just can't see what purpose it serves to the team? All part and parcel of a football match though, every pantomime needs a villain. Did alright after he came on, certainly he was trying. The ****. <laugh>

It was a bit spasmodic and didn't last long, there was much more cheering than booing going on.

Come on, he refused to play for us to try and force the Arsenal move!

The reason I say it is, if the guy was being dropped and pushed out against his will he could easily give a media interview pouring his heart out and setting the record straight.

He'd face the wrath of the club for doing it sure and effectively convince them they want rid whilst keeping the fans on side. It would be win-win for him!

The club never fined him because protecting the asset suited them while providing Pardew with his post-match excuses.

Bottom line is, no player is bigger than Newcastle United Football Club and players striking like spoilt children whilst pocketing your money isn't good enough.
He couldn't give two hoots about fans booing him in the same way he pays no genuine attention to "Don't sell Cabaye" chants...

You don't actually believe that surely? And like I say, what would the punishment be? Frozen out, sold? :D

He could easily have had a sly 'off the record' word with L'equipe or asked his agents to leak 'sources close to Cabaye' and give a sob story.

It's never stopped our players in the past saying this that or another about clubs they admire and want to join.
Where's the official sanctioning for JFK's blasts of hot air?

All we've effectively been officially told is he's refused to play and he doesn't look too angry with Pards for telling fibs about him...

As far Carroll goes, he wanted to go to Liverpool and at that price we wanted to sell. He was just more concerned about keeping the Geordie fans on his side!

Sick of these players and if a few boos is the worst their fragile egos have to endure then where do I sign up?

I think Cabaye is a cock but I wouldn't boo one of ours onto the field of play.
It would be detrimental to the good of the side.

The players knowing they can treat you like a twat and come back to a round of applause, is detrimental to the club... Surely... They've got to fear failure, Fergie didn't win games by smiling at his squad and offering them a biscuit <ok>

I'd agree but players respect men like SAF, they couldn't give a **** about mere mortals and therefore its counter productive. Cock end nonetheless.

If the players don't respect the fans, then it's a moot point whether we boo or not... So let's do it ;);) Less saw on the old hands.

Was about 30% near me but not me. We are all up in arms about the owners cons not buying or trying to strengthen or get anywhere so why should a player who wants to get somewhere and has the chance to go to a champions league club not want to go. We are fans and stuck with it, he isnt and any player must be shocked to see a club employing a director of football like our joke
