Underwhelming, I like the two guys weve got in but would have been nice to see us going all out for Ciani or Finnbogason. I think with Finnbogason we were guaranteed a 20+ a season striker but with Pukki it could be hit or miss, hes obviously shown glimpses or he wouldnt have got a move to Schalke so will give him a chance, Celtic could be the making of him as it has been for many coming from similar situations. I think Nir Biton has good potential as well but he still has to prove he can come in and replace Wanyama at the highest level, he should have no problem with Scotland. Its disappointing to think we made it to the champions league group stages again, made huge profits from transfers and yet we havent been able to improve the team of last season, the best we can hope for just now is that we will be as good as last year. Ah well, what we all expected anyway. Van Dijk 2.6m showed a lovely range of passing at Tannadice, if he could defend he would be worth 20 million and there is no way we would have him If big Johan can make a defender out of him we could have a player on our hands. For what we spent on Boerrigter 2.2m, Balde 1.5m and Pukki 2.2m, we could easily have got Finnbogason. Balde looks like a write off already, time will tell if the other two are better than one.
Some people seem to forget our point total in the spl last season with victor , Hooper and Wilson in the team these 3 players had bad games for us as well . Let the new players settle and we might actually have a stronger team
Can you see Celtic dashing out 8.5 million pounds on a striker? Besides, Dutch media reported earlier this week that he's staying but might leave in the winter transfer period. He also wont sign the extension he is offered.
I appreciate a lot of our deals were undisclosed, but seems to me we spent roughly 50% (or maybe a bit less) than we earned from transfers. Not good enough if the club wants to progress. We have other sources of revenue at the minute so now was the time we could invest
