    I'm gonna stop making predictions.

    Until the next game. <laugh>

    Brilliant win.

Very interested to hear how Wilson and Stephens played.

Brilliant. Kermo sounded immense. Interested to hear how the new formation helped the defence/wiggins to get forward.

Posting on the train home. Much, much more like it today. Jackson immense in the middle, ditto Yann up front.

Best atmosphere at our place today in a long time, the 12th man in the Covered End

Ref had a shocker for them

We look a totally different team with a fit Jackson sitting in the middle. He settles down the whole side and dictates our rhythm. If only he was 5 years younger.

Very impressed with Caspar Schmeical in the Leicester goal today.

Couldn't be there today. Huge result. And just as unexpected. Hopefully something to build on. Let's see if we still have a team on Tuesday.

I am also going to stop commenting on formations...

"...the sight of two left at the back was deeply disturbing - surely that's not a feasible option in the Championship for goodness sake."

    ...from the ICT thread pre-season.

We played really well today, everybody contributed and played for the Manager. How people can want Powell sacked is beyond me. How you can give Pritchard a 6 vol is also beyond me,he was everywhere.

yeah, no one really stood out as having a bad game. hamer tried hard to ruin it by coming for the ball when crosses were already covered.

particular praise should go to church, pritch and dale. worked their socks off. never seen them run that much. the 5-3-2 seemed to work, there was a little confusion now and then but it helped having cort at the back bossing everyone and an extra man in midfield to break up play.

only complaint is that we still give the ball back everytime we have a throw in, and we always let the away team walk it up to our box to knock it about - whereas the away team press us at the half way line and further forward.

glad for SCP! support was good today - in good voice

Brilliant result, referee seemed a bit dubious at times but we got the majority of decisions.

    Brilliant performance all round

Hamer - 7 Simply did normal Hamer, missed a corner when went with the punch but we got away with it. Handling was secure when he got to it. Brilliant save when Knockaert clean through.

Morro - 8 - I called for him to be dropped, so glad he wasn't. He had a stormer, quality tackles and seemed calm and controlled on the ball, and grabbed a goal (even with shcoking marking).
Cort - 7 - Beast in the air, as per usual, still bambie on ice but solid.
Dervite 7 - Didn't really notice him, and with a cb that's a good thing normally.

Wiggins - 8 - Was brilliant defensively and going forward, very good runs and was far more secure than he has been so far this season.
Jacko - 9 - Was brilliant and if he's still not fully fit can't wait to see him fully fit.
Stephens - 10 - Thought he was class, was everywhere on the pitch, pinging the ball around, if that is his last performance in a charlton shirt was a brilliant one.
Pritchard - 7 - Was pritchard, worked hard, lacks ability though but good performance from the lad.
Wilson - 7 - Much improved from recent Wilson, seemed to be back to his good form from last season before the injury.

Church - 8 - Worked his socks off, didn't really get the goal scoring chance for him but works hard and so glad he has a 2 year deal, great player. And also well played for running far across the pitch just before his number came up on the 4th official's board.
Kermit - 10 - Gave everything as you could expect, highlight for me wasn't his goal but a superb tackle in the first half when tracking back, was brilliant.

Brillant performance all round and so glad we won, would have liked a clean sheet but oh well. Special mention of Kasper schmeichel, was brilliant and especially a brilliant save from Kermit's header midway through the 2nd half, his dad would have been proud of that save.

Gower, Piggot, Cousins - NA didn't have enough time but did well what little they did, was even impressed with Gower.

Congrats on the win lads. I hope you go on a run now and have a very good season

Nigel Pearson was furious with the ref and Matty James' sending off sounds pathetic. Some greats saves and poor finishing stopped you scoring more by the sounds of things

Good luck for the season lads <ok>

You too Mr Fox <cheers> Is always stupid to get a 2nd yellow for dissent, did seem a bit strange, and I was at the far end so couldn't see what he was moaning about.

Two highlights of the game for me were Kermogants goal and the banter with the Leicester fans who were a good sport :)

Cheers, Fox. I know you love Chris Powell and this takes the edge off defeat. I think he had a very good game and he deserves credit for the way he set the team up. The fact that Your goalie was probably your MOM speaks for itself. Whatever the controversy about the sending off, it was only after you were down to 10 men that you really put us under pressure.
I especially enjoyed Cort's performance, for the way he read the game and organised the defense, I also loved the way Pritchard was everywhere, always available in every area of the park. I'd love to see the stats of how much ground he covered. I know some people sneer at him but I will never say a word against him.

We wanted a peno and the fourth official told Nigel Pearson Matty James was sent off for his actions and not what he did or didnt say

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. So proud of CP, his staff, and all the players.

Hamer 8 - Made a couple of mistakes, but also pulled off a couple of blinders to win it for us.
Wiggins 8 - Driving runs, determined jockeying, and excellent tackling.
Morro 10 - Absolutely immense in every way. He kept the ball down for the most part and even set up some rapid counter-attacks.
Cort 9 - Assured, solid, and unbeatable in the air.
Dervite 8 - Calm, measured, and a decent option in the middle of the park.
Wilson 7 - Started slowly, but soon found his game and began marauding when the opportunity arose.
Jackson 9 - Captain Marvel. His experience was key, as was his ability to marshal the midfield and pick a pass.
Pritchard 9 - His work-rate makes up for any slight deficiency, and we are lucky to have such a committed player on our hands.
Stephens 8 - Best game in an age. If he stays, I will expect more of the same on a weekly basis. Passing was superb, as was his tackling.
Kermit 9.5 - Would have been a 10/10, but the first half was a little subdued. Second half, he played in every outfield position, scored the winner, and was awe-inspiring.
Church 9 - Working off of scraps, but kept his chin up and just gave everything up to the second he came off. A terrific player, and a terrific signing.

Gower, Cousins, Piggott - Came in after being dropped, but still gave everything to the cause.

The team spirit, the fans' enthusiasm, and the CP effect has given every CAFC supporter something to be happy about this evening. Onwards and upwards!

    COYR

P.S) The Leicester fans were superb, as per usual.
