Im not talking about this season, Im talking about his whole career, 1 shot at chelsea and thats it.
Henry is gash too but his job is to be solid in the front of the back four, ONeill has played 2 games with us.

Ahh, so if he has a good performance with us this season, it doesn't count because he's been sh1te in the past? I'm not denying he's been very poor with us for the majority of his time here, but he's playing well enough at the moment. It's not all about creating goals, we're grinding out results at the moment. And he's contributing to that by being a positive influence in midfield

He was Amit Bhatia's man of the match, the commentators thought he had a good game(they said he was our best player in the first half too), and the fans at the game cheered his name. Catchy or not, he rarely gets his song sung (this was the first time this season), so he must have been doing something right.
Plus it sounds like a number of people on this thread thought he played well.
"Never happen", there are those anti-swp sweeping generalisations again :(

Well you are only right for a start about the headers the rest you are completely wrong about

Calmly and seriously if you truly believe what crap you have written here then you know very little about the game

I watched a stream from France and could see e dry thing SWP does

Honestly lads you are ill seriously infected

    Why is Harold picking him?

I agree he can't win headers but the clue there is because he is only 3 feet tall

Logged on to read yet another moan

    Went to the game today.

Overall, I agree in that SWP is pretty pants - think it was encapsulated when he got in front of the through-ball from Hoilett and somehow managed to control the ball away from the goal. Very frustrating.

But, today he was full of endeavour, worked ceaselessly up and down the line and tried to link the play.

We sang his name for those reasons really and he was an important part of the team today. From a creative aspect, however, he offers little - or not enough.

When Philips comes in perhaps he'll go to the bench but it is important, at least when spectating, that we recognise his positive input.

Calmly and seriously you could be talking about Adel Taarabt in that post.

He's very similar to Taarabt in many ways but he tries harder and for that reason I'd have him ahead of Tarbs all day long. He's found his level and he brings something to the team. He'll be an important asset for us this season.

How on Earth? Were you watching the same game as me Husky? Are you sure you got off at the right stop and didn't end up watching the Bolton game instead?

I thought Phillips played very well today. Yes he's like a rabbit in the headlights when he gets forward but he was the only attacking threat we had before Hoillett came on. I think there's a juvenile anti-Chelsea slant to the vitriol that goes this lad's way. The people that are slating him are the same ones that were blowing smoke up Teletubbie-Taarabt's arse for the last two years despite him being worse than useless.

There's a reason why we're winning at the moment and that's because we've got a team of Championship standard players battling hard for everything. He's not Premier League but he'll do a good job for us this year. In fact he's already doing so yet some of you are blind to what he brings to the table.

Time to give yourselves a good shake.

P.S. Kerry, I'm not even going to click on that link because when people get the truth served up about Taarabt, they always put up a montage of him scoring goals three years ago. Done nothing in the Prem. Absolutely nothing.

    Another Championship standard player.

    Hey up, Swords.

Think you need to read my post a little more clearly.

I said 'overall' SWP is pants - that's taking in his overall contribution in the last few seasons. 1 league goal says it all.

However, I recognised his contribution today. His effort and workrate are never in question, it's his impact in the final third which is in doubt.

Gentlemen! It is a team game and we are winning games. Stop moaning and enjoy the success.
    SWP is frustrating!
    Barton is a twat!
    Henry only passes backwards!
    Clint is old and slow!
    Green makes mistakes!
    Hoilett never passes!
    Adel plays for Foolham!
    Austin has been disappointing!
    Bla bla bla ****ing bla!!!
We are top of the league, or hasn't anyone noticed?

Fair enough mate. After reading the first three lines I'd had enough! You did subsequently qualify your statement though which turned it into a well-balanced assessment to be fair.

I know he's done nowte for two years, but like Tarbs, he was out of his depth. He's now found his level and although he'll never really be any good, he will be important for us this year in the same way Mackie would have. Ideally Harry probably wants his wide men sorted out with SWP on the bench. He'd be handy for nuisance value to bring on with 15 minutes to go to run at tired defences.

I think he's done very well so far if I'm honest.

Not sure you can ever bracket SWP and Adel together, even at Ch. level.

But, yes, SWP has done well enough (in his limited capacity) so far this season.
