    Its amazing how this season in the PL could be so different to the last. Hardly any goals scored this season compared to a bucket load last! No goals yet in the 3pm kick offs. Now I've said that let the flood begin!

    Why would that make them "scared"? This makes less than zero sense. Are you suggesting refs give penalties but don't want the taker to score?

    Yes, but they all have natural pauses in the game. In football it would be a lot more difficult do this. And look at the farce of the DRS in the Ashes. If there was technology and we used it for the penalty appeal it could well be interpreted as "not enough evidence to overturn the decision". Handball is one of those laws that it would be very hard to overturn the referees original decision.
