Hey goonercymraeg, Arsenal87 might not be there but I'll happily meet you outside the ground. On a side note you dont happen to have a spare ticket? ..
Oh shut up you muggy little ****. Go back and read through my posts and see if you can actually get the point of my posts. I can assure my post was not all about how great Sanogo is. You are so ****ing stupid it is unbelievable. Honestly your ******ed.
A few of us on here have met up before. It's good fun, actually putting a face to the person you've been chatting with on here and getting to know them properly. I know some people like to give it the big un' on here, but in real life I find that most people are pretty down to earth decent types. Cym and SJW are two of the nicest people you could meet, even though they are ****s on here Arsenal87, you should take up Cym's offer, he'd probably even buy you a pint before the game - as long as you're old enough to drink of course.
I think we should pull out of any proposed deal for RM players because they need the money to pay for Bale. If it caused that to fall through the spuds would be completely ****ed for FFP. Im sure a club like Arsenal could find other players to buy and at such short notice we may well have to pay a bit over the odds but it would be worth it to stitch up the spuds after their rumoured attempts to stich us up. Maybe Draxler, Rooney and a DM who can cover at CB (not sure who though).
Signing a young player on a free with potential who may or may not turn out to be a good player (he is far higher rated by some who have watched him regularly than he is by most of us fans so far) is fine by me. I don't think he will get much game time and if we sign another striker like we intend it wouldn't suprise me if come january we try and find Sanogo a loan move to get game time. I'm happy with the odd cheap youth signing - it's a cheap gamble. The question i answered about Chadli and Chiriches is that i wouldn't want them as squad players at Arsenal. I think for players who are going to get an alright amount of game time i would want better. We have had plenty of almost good enough squad players before and spent bloody ages getting rid of them. I wouldn't want to bring more "ok" squad players to replace them. I'd want either top quality additions or experienced heads to help the younger players (which is why i'm fine with the Flamini signing). So i see the Sanogo signing as a totally different type of signing to Chadli and Chiriches. Hopefully that explains my differing views on the transfers It's not that they aren't good players, just not good enough (for me personally) to play for Arsenal. They may well prove me wrong though and come the end of the season they could be totally owning the league! Thats the joy of transfers, sometimes they work, other times they don't! (I'd take a few of your other signings though )
Oi old man - sort me out a decent price ticket and ill come meet you wherever you like - you dont need sweets to get me into the car!
I appreciate your response Afcftw and I do get the point you are making however I find it hard that you can make a judgment on 2 players that have never played in the premier league yet (ok Chadli has played 2 games). A lot of Arsenal's best players since Wenger has been there have been relatively unknown when they signed. I said it before but Koscielny is a great example. I bet you fans were hardly that excited when you signed him but he is arguably now one of the best defenders in the premier league.
Let's face it, we are NOT going to bring in any 'special' players before the window closes. Maybe a couple of OK players and that's it. This to me makes the transfer window an unmitigated disaster. We made high profile bids for Suarez and Higuian. How much was that for publicity and how much did we really want them? If we really wanted them, then we should have paid more and got them. The spuds concern me. They have lost one over-hyped player and brought in several good players. For the 1st time ever, I am concerned about 4th place and finishing below the spuds. Our squad is very weak and we are not going to be bringing in the 5 good players that we need or even 2 top class players. We should have done all our business early and had them settled in.
I share your concerns. But I don't think we made bids for Higuain and Suarez for publicity reasons, that just doesn't make any sense.
The 3 confirmed bids have been Bender, Suarez and Cabaye 2 of these were a complete waste of time and the third we seemed to give up extremely quickly
So depressing, I fear a return to the post FA Cup 79 to pre Rumbelows cup win against the pool era, mid table with no real hope of winning anything.
