Yeah! No one should buy pies or drinks at the match, the 50,000 pound loss in commercial revenue will show those fat cats what's what, maybe then they'll buy some 30 million pound players on a 100k a week wages!!!!!!!
    Grow up.

I'd also like to thank you for Pat Jennings but I'm far too young to have ever seen him play<whistle>

We seem to have had a lot of those.

    Gilles Grimandi
    Perry Groves
    John Jensen
    Emmanuel Eboue
    etc.

He wasn't great, lets be honest. On his best day, he was good, nothing more. Shame those days didn;t happen often.

the season before sagna came in (2006/7) eboue was pretty good. with the arrival of sagna, wenger moved eboue to the right wing, where he just wasn't as strong. also because of that change in position, he stopped working as much on defensive skills, causing them to decline. when he was then called upon to play at right back, he wasn't disciplined enough. his failure at arsenal was due to wenger moving his position.

According to my relatives, Perry Groves was a dreadful player.

    I liked his book though.

Your relatives never saw him play then. Oft maligned, he was a unfashionable but very effective striker at Arsenal.

He was a winger with no talent.

Just because Wikipedia says he was a winger, that doesn't account for the way he played as a striker. I remember going to Goodison and seeing him score a brilliant goal that won us the game, in a really tight affair - this was back in the day when Everton were winning things.

Turns out i now have to work tomorrow and will miss watching the game live... which means i'll be watching it late tomorrow night (as long as my sky doesnt turn itself off before recording the game) and i'll be back onto this match thread to give my comments then. Hopefully we win and i don't have to sit and watch us lose in the middle of the night.

Yep. Time zone problems so I just watch it on the NBC app on my phone. I'm with the technical department so the guy up there doesn't mind if I watch it in the booth (he does the same for Chavski matches as he's a Chav)
