Agree, think most people know that - just look what Redknapp spent when there. However, the amount being spent this window is quite incredible, enough to start making some links between that and Bale's impending move. I don't remember them ever going to town like they are now. Dont begrudge them at all, as happy we are also spending!
Imagine what Redknapp would've done this window with that amount of money Parker new 5 year deal, Re-sign Crouch and the rest mysteriously going to some bird called Rosie
Would have somehow found a way to sell and then re-sign Defoe, all within the same window. Not to mention bring Kranjcar back, and once again take part in a Samba-£12m trade.
If that's true, then that will certainly give the management something to think about. £4.5 million for Jack Cork is a pretty good deal.
Not really considering he is only 24 and in my opinion not far behind Wanyama and Morgan. £4.5 million is a nice return on what we brought him for but not necessarily a good deal
4.5 mil for Cork? Not even close to what I would sell him for. Just because Victor has come in doesn't make Cork any worse, he was one of our very best players last season.
I can't see how we can sell him. That position was the main area we needed to strengthen in the summer because we didn't have quality cover for Cork and Morgan. Selling Cork would leave us in a very similar situation, so I could only see him going if the offer is silly money or we have a better player lined up to replace him. Neither are likely IMO. Do we know when this bid was made? It may have been before they signed Parker?
I can't see us wanting to sell Cork. I do however think that if we received an offer of £6m - £7m, we'd probably accept it. But hey, that's just me.
Would be harsh to keep him if we got a reasonable offer of 8 million of so. He seems to be 4th choice after Vic, Morgan and James.
I am sure Cork has been reassured that he will play games this season. He's young, there's not much to gain at Fulham, and Morgan was deservedly subbed at half time last week... not having a good DM on the bench last season was one of the reasons we weren't higher.
Not necessarily a good deal, but it's a fair valuation of a player who's no longer a starter. I doubt any club will pay more than that for him, so it's likely to come down to whether he wants to leave.
