It's got a bit tasty this game. Both taking lumps out of each other. Loved that Torres goal. Personally I would really like to see him back to playing well. He was an amazing player at one point.

You'd be surprised at how big match day revenue is even in this day and age (the sky era).

 

Like to know what the average spend per person is. If 50 quid that's 2m, for 40000, 19 times a season.

Working on the basis of £50 spend per person, if the gates drop to 40,000 for the remaining 18 home games the club will lose 10,800,000 (£50 x 12,000 (fans) x 18 (league games).

You're looking at that covering 5 players wages for the season if they're on 40k per week. Some hit for Ashley to take if the fans keep it up. I personally feel that voting with your feet is the best way to make Ashley realise that we won't continue to turn up if he keeps not only his money in his pocket but also keeps making crazy decisions such as Kinnear etc.

So far he's yet to experience a prolonged drop in attendances as people prefer to vocal protests, singing anti Ashely/Kinnear songs but this doesn't affect him one bit as he's still taking our money. I therefore hope the rumour that the attendance will be around 40k is true as hitting him in the pocket is the only way he'll realise that he can't have things his own way even if he does own the club.

 

He has proven that he cares about bums on seats as he buys players in January to get the ST renewals in so hopefully people voting with their feet will gt his attention.
Unusually there are a lot of pay on the gate turnstiles too today too.

 

A lot of people not paying in advance when they don't know what they're going to see.

 

Can't understand it myself.

They know what they're gonna get - one touch thrilling football with plenty of shots at goal, from a team of motivated footballing superstars managed by a tactical genius.

If I wasn't already going, I would be doing everything possible to make sure I could get there.
