Sorry NUTS but I think im correct in saying that Cesar is our most successful and highly decorated player !! even he doesn't get a game..?
Apologies Queens for being pedantic but look at the questions I asked. The answer is Richard Dunne and not Cesar. You're correct in saying Cesar is our most decorated player but I'm not talking about medals, I'm talking about Prem experience. A serious portion of Cesar's top flight games were within Brazil. Almost all Dunne's career has been spent at the highest level. I may be wrong but I think that Dunne still has more international caps as well. The point I'm making is that even at 32 he's still has more than enough quality to play for us. His contract is perfect for us. Play and you get paid, get injured and you're gone. There's no risk there for us at all. Onouha is still learning his trade at CB and Dunne is the perfect mentor. It's a no brainer. Enough from me. Rant over, I promise
Nuts, im with you on the subject of Dunne and between him and Clint they are going to develop Onuha into a top CB. Plenty of top experience, nous and desire to pass on to upcoming star. I think (and previously posted) that Onuha is going to become one hell of a CB palying alongside these guys. My only worry is that if we don't go back up inside the next 2 seasons, then he will be gone and be in a prem team for sure. Of that I have no doubt. theres a lot of Paul Parker (my fav) about him (except that Parker was far too good for us) and I hope we can keep hold of him. I think the captains armband could be the way forward for him in the future, if only to keep hold of him. im really looking forward to watching him develop, and alongside Dunne is a brilliant move by those involved....IMHO as for Cesar, I believe he did spend a lot of time in Italy too at one of the Milan clubs I think (sb?) Not sure about int apps, but Dunne could well be ahead. Sorry - cant be arsed to research it
All good points Onouha is still very young in CB terms. You're right if course, he has all the attributes and loads of potential. He now needs a serious run of games and his confidence to grow. We really need another player who can play at CB. Baird would have been perfect as his ability to play across the back four would have been invaluable. I really like what Harry is going overhauling the squad. Austin, Simpson and Philips supply the youth and energy while Dunne and Henry will provide the leadership and experience. Harry's getting it right IMO.
