Oh dear, Lukaku misses the 5th.

Send him out on loan again to get his confidence back <ok>

  4. Disgusting by Jose IMO. Why put a young inexperienced lad in fifth? <doh>

Was a strange choice. You'd think put him 2nd or 3rd so you have a chance to catch up if he does miss.
Terry obviously bottled it, but then Mourinho has to take some blame for subbing off 3 attacking players, leaving only his defenders and an inexperience forward left to take the pens.

  7. I doubt Terry bottled it, more likely Jose didn't fancy him.

John Terry put his tracksuit on as soon as the last pen was saved.

But Terry to Jose, is what Allen is to Rodgers.

  10. Why was he on the bench then?

I just hope Lakaku can learn and become stronger for the experience

Same reason Allen's bene on the bench for us <ok>

Lukaku showed he's a decent player and at 20 he's got another 5 or 6 years until he gets anywhere near his full potential. Just can't see him playing much this year now they've just signed Eto'o. Doubt he'll go out on loan again but the best thing for him would be to go to West Brom again and get another full season under his belt and show it wans't just a fluke season.

Think if he gets regular football could become a very good forward, much like Benteke.

Why are you crying for Lukaku? He's a professional international football player. It's his job to take and score penalties. However, he bottled it - nothing more and nothing less. He tried to make their goalie look stupid by taking no run-up and merely tapping the ball. He got caught out. If destroys his confidence I don't care - he doesn't play for us. He's also going to be taking home a darn site more money each week than anybody posting on this site!

  14. They have Eto'o, Torres, Ba and Lakaku, he's not going to get much of a look in there, especially considering Jose decided to play without a striker whilst the latter three where available for selection. With it being a world cup year and Benteke having already made an excellent start, I can't see Lakaku wanting to sit on the bench or worse all season. I reckon he'll go out on loan.

  15. Nobody's crying for Lakaku. The question was about Jose's decision to put him in for the fifth and final penalty.

Same applies mourinho has to know if he can trust him. As of now he knows that the question still remains to be answered.

  19. there are better times and places to figure that out. Putting him as the fifth takers could set the lad back, it is potentially confidence shattering. As I said, I hope he learns and builds from the experience though. I don't care if he plays for a rival, I like to see good players play <ok>

Jose Mourinho, asked whether it was the right decision to show Ramires a second yellow card for his tackle on Mario Gotze: "I prefer to say no, even if you say yes. Because for me rules are rules but there is a very important rule which is common sense, passion for the game. The referee has to analyse the danger of the situation and consequence for football. When the referee takes a decision like this I am not sure he loves football."

That's right Jose, no ref should send anyone off, otherwise it just shows they don't love football. Maybe if your player doesn't love football because he nearly broke the other guys leg <doh>
