Sorry mate, so many hundreds to put down, there's an occasional slip. But easily rectified for next update, don't worry. just one thing – about the forum ‘average’ entry, we’ve had a couple of posts about this: when I started this, I found that they don't use normal adding up and averaging system at Sunderland. What they do is make a single average forum selection from the guesses received as if it were an entry itself, then mark it against other forum "entries" in the same way. Supposed to be foolproof in the way they calculate it, but just so you all know it's not at all a question of 3+4+5=12 divided by 3 = 4 ...

We can see that the outstanding start last week by the Vital Football â Newcastle forum has come to a quick end, theyâre now down a place. The so-called âexpertsâ from Media & Communications are now top â I hope that doesnât last long because weâre talking about guys like the BBCâs Lawro! Weâve gotta show them up! But the Liverpool FC Forum have done very well this week and moved up lots of places, alongside Vital - Newcastle. Brighton, Hemel Hempstead (non-league but ALWAYS do well in our games!), and Wigan make up the top six, take this as if it were the European places. But Barnsley, Blackburn, QPR, Swansea & West Ham are breathing down their necks; itâs very tight, and the first points bonuses (which will gradually open up distances) donât come to the beginning of September. And rest assured itâs 100% above board â see the forum organizers Black Cat Chat (Sunderland) and Royals Rendezvous (Reading) near the tail end of the forum field. I appreciate that there is a hell of a lot of work going into this fella, but shouldn't you just wait until the end of the season to see who has done best?

Just a reminder, this is how it works - it's easy really: Scoring is as follows: For each team you score one point for each place away from its predicted position. Example - if you predict Sunderland to finish 9th and they finish 9th, you score 0 points (excellent predicting). If they finish 13th you score 4 points or if they finish 7th you score 2 points. Therefore, the nearer you get to the exact position and have less points mounting up the better of course. I will endeavour to make updates at least fortnightly, but all leaderboards during the season are given for interest. IMPORTANT - The big winners are the people who have LEAST points after the final game has been played. ALSO - This season we have MONTHLY rewards for those in the top positions! Rewards for high positions at the end of every month (at end of weekend programme). Here's the idea: 1st - take off 5 bonus points from score of best, so score dips even lower // 2nd - take off 4 bonus points // 3rd - take off 3 bonus points // 4th - take off 2 bonus points // 5th - take off 1 bonus point. Bonus Points for the most successful - Positions 1 to 5 (on points so there may well be far more than 5 people involved) will have from 5 to 1 point deducted - further helping their score. Their position for the deduction will be based on their (true) score, not taking any previous deductions into account. OK??!

I think I'm doing pretty crap at this. It seems a bit strange to me that we get updates on this throughout the season when our predictions are for the final league positions at the end of the season. I don't really get it.
Got to admit, although our predictions are for the end of the season, I do like to to see the tables and how they change shape, especially with the middle teams, over the course of the season. Maybe it's just me though <shrug>
