I just saw this on the twittersphere.

Slightly random!? Do we need another central midfielder?

Do love how quiet this has all been kept though, not even a rumour about a whisper!

Yeah I think we need a midfielder. Danns just does fit here any longer

We have been crying out for a solid defensive midfielder and thats what Hammond is.

King, James, Drinkwater and Hammond will give us options

And well done NP. Not a sniff from anyone about Hammond. If he was signing for QPR Harry would have been shouting at the media from his car window last week

From what the Saints fans are saying he sounds exactly like what we have been needing especially at away games

I think you guys will love him, gets his foot in, a natural experienced leader and he'll get you 4/5 goals a season.

Obviously we want him to score goals but we dont need him for the goals as we already have alot of goals in midfield with Knockaert, King, Dyer and James capable of scoring. We need someone to put their foot in and break the opposition play up. Especially away from home. Apart from Wes Morgan and Kasper Schmeichel we have no real leaders in the team and it shows when we up against it at times

Great to see Pearson is as always one step ahead of everyone else. Marshall leaving is now explained and instead of a player with potential who may play in the first team if he feels like it we have a proven combative player which is exactly what most have been saying we have lacked.

Exactly. We need more proven solid performers then potential and flair at this moment. We need more experienced players to help the younger lads

Got really excited then - failing eyesight saw 415 goals a season - nearly 10 a game.
Thanks for the info ollie - the majority of Walshies signings have done well for us. Sounds like a good move for us.

Hopefully hes got a critical pass on him, will help us create more chances than we are at the moment.

Tanner tweeted hes not available for today.

Good experienced pro in a young midfield, I'd expect him to probably take Drinkwater's place for the moment allowing King and James to bomb forward. Very pleased with this, a good Championship player and exactly the type you can imagine Pearson signing. He's paid some money for him as well!
