The swans seem to think he better further up the pitch. We'll still need another cm but at least we're gonna have a AM in place in Sess' absence. What you reckon? After Ki a LB CM and ST? Three more still to come. I can feel it in my bones.

A deal to bring Ki Seung-Yong to the Stadium Of Light looks to be completed within the next 24-hours.

It's been on the cards for a good two weeks or so now and finally it looks like Sunderland might have got their man to pick the passes in central midfield.

When Paolo Di Canio said he wanted someone with the "key", not many suspected it would be quite as literal as "Ki" Seung-Yong of Swansea City, but that's who's going to be their for us.

The South Korean international is reportedly on Wearside at the moment having undergone a medical already and a deal will be completed in the morning, when he'll sign up for a season long loan deal.

Whilst it's thought there's no provision in place to sign the midfielder in the summer, it's worth noting that at that stage he'll be entering the final year of his contract with the South Wales side and should be available at a knockdown price.

Michael Laudrup's side do have a clause however which allows him to return to Swansea if needed in January, although they're relatively stocked with midfielders so it would seem unlikely he'll go back. Even we have the customary January recall in place with Danny Graham, and we all know it's not going to happen.

Ki certainly fits the bill as someone who can pick a pass out from a central role, having already throughout his career made a name for himself with his extensive range of passing, and accurate passing at that.

He won't be able to do anything at Crystal Palace this weekend, meaning we won't see him in action for a while, but the game against Arsenal could mark his debut.

Good player but unfortunately we cant guarantee him regular game time as others are prefered by laudrup and the coaching staff and he don't want to sit on the bench (if he makes the bench that is) every game. he is a likeable lad who works hard and i can see the reason why we will only let him out on loan, It benefits the player and sunderland and us at the end of the day...

South Korea international Ki Sung-Yeung is set to complete a season-long loan move to Sunderland.

Sky sources understand the Swansea midfielder travelled to Wearside on Friday ahead of a proposed deal.

Ki would become manager Paolo Di Canio's 12th summer acquisition.

The South Korean international made 38 appearances for Swansea last season.

Gutted with this. Ki is a good footballer who we should have kept. His only weakness is his tackling but will do well for you in a creative role.
