I was being IRONIC - I was sure Arsenal would get a cut so I couldn't understand how Cym thought Arsenal wouldn't be affected. Even if they don't get a cut the contractor will be back to renegotiate better terms if there is an effective boycott going on. It is a weird tactic all the same.
I can't get to the match on Sunday as I am working in Riyadh- but I will forego my usual match-snack Schwami kebab and four bottles of non alcoholic beer if you think it might help bring these fat cat bar-stewards trembling to their knees - not sure what to do about boycotting the match programme - but rest assured I will conceive of something before kick-off
If theres any truth in the rumours that they are trying to delay the Bale transfer so RM don't release any players to us proves what ****ers they are.
Probably to be expected. I never thought they would do us favours. Probably shows nothing except that they are not certain that they can beat us, for all the talk about their great transfer window.
Early days. They need time for their signings to bed, we have an established and well oiled first team (most of them available) playing at home. So we go in with an advantage. As the season progresses, we will see a few interesting changes in the league, with 3 new managers in charge and a shed load of new players. If we get a few players in then we'll be able to build on our good first team, if we don't get sufficient cover, then it'll make for a risky season.
If this is in fact a Spurs tactic, then Levy is even smarter than I thought. But I reckon it's more down to them wanting to get all their signings done and dusted. But you never now eh.
both better than pedantic ........yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnnnn...! could NOT let it pass unnoticed could you ? dear me.
It's a reactionary rant, because we haven't signed any players yet. I don't think anybody who gave it any thought would really take it that seriously, because it won't really affect any change at Arsenal and it's not going to persuade the board to suddenly go out and blow all the cash because a few people aren't buying burgers. We made a forty million bid this summer, so that indicates a sea change of our approach to spending money. It wasn't successful, so some fans hang on to the excuse that we're penny pinching but that isn't the case.
Do you mean that you wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't pointed it out, or do you mean that I should have tried not to notice it, or if I had already noticed it, I should have tried to forget I noticed it? Now that is being pedantic! I think you will find I was being a smartass and condescending, which when it comes to Spurs fans, I'm guilty as charged!
Why would we want you to have the opportunity to buy three real Madrid players ... Surely delaying selling bale til we bought our players and delaying your chance to buy good players is the smart thing to do?
It's just good business from spurs, although they're wasting their time, there's no way we're signing any of those 3 players
This Levy business about apparently delaying the sale of Bale to RM to stop us from transfer's.... impossible! Spurs and RM must have exchanged contracts between clubs otherwise how else has Spurs been able to spend £100 million this window. Picture it, RM pull out of buying Bale and Spurs are left with a massive debt with no way of paying. Bale has been a done deal for a month now and we are just left dithering!
The fact is we will be paying for it if we get the players from RM. I think we should pull out in an attempt to make the spuds fall foul of FFP rules. We should buy Rooney, Draxler and a DM/CB utility player. And as for tomorrow, we have a team that can win, what we lack is a squad that can go the season and if we pick up any more injuries tomorrow which is quite likely we could be in trouble in the coming weeks.
Ahhh...i see what you did there piskie .... Just see it as a thank you for stealing Campbell and giving us rowan rickets
