I go for lunch and upon my return find that my Forum thread has been closed. I have to say that I am disgusted that the anti - Dai brigade have managed to force this shutdown, and am surprised, and disappointed, that a much respected mod fell for it. Well, all I can say is that I will continue to fight for the right of EVERY INDIVIDUAL to post on this Forum, and they will get my support, providing,of course, that they don't stoop to insults, abuse, etc. Forum 3 will inevitably appear in due course.
I find Dai's posts insulting towards the club I love, our manager and our chairmen. So what should I do?
I closed the thread hoping that it would contain the fallout. Have no issue with you standing up for Dai's rights to post Vetch, as we all have the right to post our views and opinions but in the last hour I have read 4 threads full of nonsense from certain posters (none of which involves football) etc so by closing it everybody can move on. If not, they will be dealt with
While the forum is primarily about discussing football there will inevitably be occasions where the people who contribute become the focus of attention. I don't think that is wrong, as long as it's kept at a reasonable level.
By way of clarification,Valley,my original Forum thread was not about Dai,per se,but it was turned into a Dai thing by those who have a vested interest to constantly bring him to heel. I understand why you felt the need to close it,but all that's happened is that the Dai detractors now feel fully vindicated in their behaviour. That's a sad result for this Forum. I'll say no more on the subject,so you can close this thread as well,if you so wish. I'll not post on it again.
On a day when our club has made history by reaching the Europa league group stage and have been drawn against a European big boy in Valencia and with trips due to Switzerland and Russia. All we can do is bicker. Surely some things are more important. Like which away trip you are going to go on. Like how you think we will do in the groups stage and who will our possible second striker be with the trnsfer window closing soon. Come on guys lets get back good old football debate.
I take it then that Dai's been a naughty boy again I also want it on record that I have been away this week and all this has got bugger all to do with me.
Valley - out of order closing the other thread. There were absolutely no breaches of the rules by anyone at all and the debate was just that - a debate. But your comment on that thread "draw a line under it or the warning of bans will be issued" beggars belief. Get a grip wil you? Take a long hard look at the rules again because I really think you need to. You simply cannot close threads because you don't like the topic! Yet more evidence that Libertarian is dead right about this forum, I'm afraid.
Im not sure how it can be claimed the "anti-Dai brigade" forced the closure of the thread Vetch. A mod made a judgement call. KJ - I agree with you that the thread shouldnt have been closed - but the mod was trying to protect Dai. I can't see how it can be concluded that vetch is dead right about this forum.
An incorrect one. Threads should be closed if there's a bun fight descending into chaos - can't think of any other reason really. That thread was nothing of the sort. Mods have a tough job - particularly here - but they do get things wrong as history shows. We should be allowed to say so if that's the case shouldn't we? Or maybe not. Oh... and Dai really doesn't need protecting. Water off a duck's back springs to mind.
Well if people stop derailing fcuking threads and stop bickering like a bunch of old women then there will be no need to close the threads.
I tell you what was funny reading through that thread was a Cardiff mod taking the moral high ground. Don't listen to their bollox, last time I was in there I got told to fcuk off and he did sod all about it. No matter what the issues are on here at least none of our posters have an agenda to get people banned unlike those twats over there. I won't post over there anymore, don't say you haven't been warned. Our board and mods are far superior As for Dai, well I didn't know what's happened this week but I bet he's laughing his head off right now
To tell you the truth KJ I do not think Vetch should have started the threads anyway - because inevitably it appears to just add fuel to the fire. Having said that, the threads have been conducted with generally good behaviour. These "mass discussions" tend to happen every month or so and generally are based about Dai/his comments etc. But we never learn from them. So I would just try to make a few points in the hope that helps to establish some common ground. 1. Most of us have behaved poorly at some point 2. We are all Swansea City fans 3. Dai stands out as a poster who wums/riles up the majority of Swans fans persistently and has done for many years. 4. When Dai makes a valid point/thread it tends to get lost because of point 3 5. An argument ensues with "the anti Dai brigade" and "the saviours of free speech" 6. Despite what people think I do not believe there is an orchestrated group on either side. 7. During this argument dai stays low and re-appears at the end of it. 8. Nothing much changes The clique - I think this is your pet hate! Yes there are people who have common ground apart from football. This was interfering with some of the main threads which is how Friday Night at The Coed evolved - to try and keep talk about sex/rissoles and beer in one place. Again this has evolved and has not been orchestrated. The "saviours of free speech" (I just made that up and its not meant to be offensive!) Yourself and Vetch always take Dai's "side" on these issues which is fair enough, but as you say it's water off a ducks back so he doesn't really need protection. If he wants to keep on posting inflammatory remarks about the Club then he has to expect inflammatory feedback.
I wondered why Vetch's thread was closed, and I couldn't see any issues from post to be fair, though I take issue with Vetch, on why he deemed it necessary to take rear guard action relating to Dai again! but there you go that's his prerogative, and it's mine to question him too, but PGF's post 15 above is a very good summary of how I see it!................
You guys couldn't see any issues because posts were being deleted, the mods are not here to sit here all day deleting posts, if they deem a topic close worthy, then let them do their job. Im certainly no saint, but I can at least see further than my nose unlike some who just seem to want to bring it up for the sake of causing more problems. My post which is now like number 5, was on page two when i posted it. Its just another case of people wanting an opinion they have very little clue about. So get off all your high horses, and shut the **** up and be grateful for what our mods do. Now have a nice day
If posts have been removed, then that's way over the top, as nothing posted deserved removal!.............
