I disagree. I can see Lamela and Eriksen being on the bench for the game. Both will come on trying to impress and we'll get quality game time out of them. Both have had a preseason, both are fit, so why not?
I think that both Lamela and Erikson, if he signs, will be on the bench. Whether they actually come on or not, or even for how long, will depend on the course of how the game goes. But, the threat of seeing talent like that, sitting there, with the possibility of then coming on, will certainly give Whinger something to think about.

Surely Eriksen has missed the deadline for Sunday? Anyway, I can't see either starting and there is plenty of time for them over the season. Would liven up the prospect of Norridge somewhat with one of them starting, doubt if both will. I think Vlad will need to wait till at least Villa in the Lge Cup for a start.
totally agree. And Rob & Greavesy - I also think Holtby should start. But we could see Capoue, Paulinho and Dembele in a 433. if we go 4231 then I expect to see Holtby. If Sigurdsson is given the nod over him on sunday, I'll be amazed.

Isn't the deadline noon today for a weekend game? Apparently Chiriches and Lamela made it, but I can't see how Eriksen would, if the deal went through today.

Eriksen can only play if you believe he has already signed. Had to have been registered by 12:30 today. He may have already signed and just the announcement is delayed so that we get more news time over a longer period.
