I was told it's only effective in the summer window, the reason it was timed to end at the end of July was to avoid exactly the scenario we are now in i.e. to not leave us exposed at the end of the window with no time to find replacements.
Fair enough. Although given it's rumoured to operate in winter too, we can add that to the list of stuff we think we might know about this deal, but aren't really sure about!
I'm sure that one quick call to Fellaini's agent by a Man Utd rep will clear it up. You can bet that if the clause does kick back in in january, Utd know that already.
Not necessarily moot - if we know he'll be available for the release clause in Jan, there's no need to bid above the clause value now. We can make do for the next few months with what we have, then reassess the situation in Jan. I'm still not convinced Moyes and the board think a new CM is absolutely vital to our chances of success this year, or that Fellaini is the answer to all our CM issues.
You're being reported as having shown interest / chucked bids in, elsewhere now, so hopefully you've moved on!
Aye, but that's been the case all summer! It's always seemed to me (and still does seem to me) that Fellaini was our fallback position, so to speak. The player who would improve the midfield, but would never be as valuable to us as the likes of Fabregas, Modric, Ozil etc. Hence we don't value him as highly as Everton do, and won't go up to the value they want.

Now are these comments: a) Comments you read on ja606 and not actually from twitter, or b) Actual comments from a twitter account from someone who really doesnt' know what is going on but likes everyone to think that they do?
Meth please, Twitter is BS. Sky release tons if idiots on there to post fake crap to diddle their Sky bet odds. Now there will be tons of knobs placing bets on Sky bet on Fellaini joining Utd.
I didnt say it was a fake account. I said its a fake rumour. Sky release them all the time to get idiots to place bets on Sky Bet. If its real why isnt on their website? Why is it just some knob on Twitter saying it?
