Sunday Sept 1st - Kick Off 1.30pm (Despite it saying on the match ticket that KO is at 3pm on Saturday!!) Venue: The Hawthorns (Swans fans will be in The Smethwick End) Jack Army: Swans fans buses leave Rossis at 9am due to a car boot sale in The Liberty Stadium car park. For many Swans fans this match is being met with eager anticipation of three points. After defeats by Champions Manchester United and Champions League hopefuls Tottenham Hotspur, surely we can/must beat WBA? West Brom, fresh from a midweek victory over Newport County in the Capital One Cup and buoyed by the return of Nicolas Anelka, will have other ideas. Having finished above us last season and already off the mark with an away point against Everton the Baggies will be looking to secure three points against the Swans, some of whom may tire after a midweek Europa League match. Ben Foster is injured so Welsh International Boz Myhill will play between the sticks for Albion. Czech striker Matej Vydra is also out after suffering a knock against the County. Will Scotty Sinclair return to haunt the Swans? Will the Swans fans give him a rendition of "Sally don't care"! Should be a cracker. Want to Predict the Match Result - there's a poll above! You forgot to say that they will be the ones in the Tesco carrier bag kit and we will be in the pickled onion monster munch kit again
Nice thread, quick and to the point I would be very happy with a draw in this game, yet again I feel there is a bit too much over confidence coming from the Jack faithful, its starting to nark me a little bit. We have no right to go anywhere away from home and expect a victory so all the talk of a must win game is wide of the mark for me .
Agree with Norway, optimism is great, but lack of respect is not. I am optimistic the Swans will be able to get a win, but I am not going to be upset if we don't. The only thing I will be upset about is any poor performances on the pitch from individual players.
I am going for a win given that WBA have lost Lukaku, Anelka is on compassionate leave and Ben Foster is injured. However would also be happy with a point
I better post something or PGF will get the hump that I told him to get his thread sorted out. WBA are a decent team and I'd take a point, but I'm going for all three with a bit of luck with Bony, Ash & Slelvey having had a break. We do need to up our performance on last night and I would be tempted to start with Ki. I will be their, I shouldn't have said that as it's my turn to get Dilli a pint. Oh 5hit that might be expensive!!!
Going into the international break, it would be nice to at least get off the mark. Tough game & a tough place, would really love 3pts, but I think we'll do well to get a draw...
He'll probably retire an hour before kick off Well if he does play, then Ash and Chico will have to be on their guard all match as if they switch off he still has the ability to hurt us.
So who's going then ? I was supposed to meet 1 606er last week but ended meeting 3. Bet that bloody PGF doesn't go
Expecting a win and a must-win situation have nothing to do with each other. This is a must-win situation ... as will be every game until we actually start putting points on the board and moving up the table. This does not mean that we expect to win, should win or anthing of the kind. It means that we have to show up, put our best XI on the field, and every player should put in a shift and play to the best of their ability ... i.e compete to win. Every game in this league is tough, that really goes without saying. Even games where the ref red cards somebody early on can be tough and closely fought. We should, however, have every confidence in who and what we are to deliver a professional, competitive effort on the field and if we do that to be able to craft a result.
Wish I could share in some of your optimism. Hopeful of a draw now but before last night I was pretty confident of a win. We can't keep the ball and our players have forgotten how to pass it accurately it as well. That, coupled with the fact that Laudrup will be wearing his patented De Guzman designer glasses (despite Ki being twice the player last night), I'm not optimistic at all.
