Lawro usually gets it wrong so I wouldn't worry unless we score first. If we do Hughton will tighten up and you might find it tricky unless you come with something special/lucky.

He probably meant that Norwich fans really get behind their team, but he actually said they created a hostile atmosphere. If he thinks Norwich fans are hostile, he's in for a shock at other grounds.
CT is right Saints, lawro hasn't got one result correct yet this season for us, he's always going positive / win for us - the reverse of what he did to you guys last season in predicting a loss which was frankly ridiculous. should be a good game tomorrow - the result might depend on if our team turns up and if Hughton picks the players that we want him to pick, we're pretty strong at home usually. that said I'd personally be happy with a point as you guys are quite attacking and under-rated. here's to (hopefully) a less stressful season for both of us
I agree with the previously mentioned get an early goal and make them play statement. If Norwich score first I worry that we will press for an equalizer and may get caught napping and concede a second. In true cowardly fashion however I am sticking to neither of what I said happening and it being a stalemate. Either 1-1 or 2-2.
Very early in the season, yet the media might start to have a look at Houghton if we win this one. From a Norwich point of view, 1 point from Everton/Saints at home and Hull away wouldn't look good.
true, but it's still early days yet if you do win. the majority of people on our board seem to think back chris until Nov/Dec time.
Hopefully, Norwich don't have a trigger happy Chairman. People are talking about di Canio's job being at risk...daft, a couple of poor results can't overturn the choice they made quite recently to appoint him, can it? Before people talk about Nicola, he didn't sack Nigel during that terrible phase of results....I think the media would have been happier if he did.
I said a while ago that I could see him filling the Beckham-type role...it's a skill that will do wonders for his future career as there will always be others stronger, faster and with more tricks than him. This has been a problem area for our team...if he masters this, as well as improving other areas of his game, he will get regularly on the team sheet. I also find it interesting that Mauricio has spotted this...I was afraid that he would only admire so-called continental skills and our home grown boys might get over-looked, but MP is impressing me more and more.
Cortese's timing always seems to catch almost everyone out completely. I think only Saints fans had the slightest whiff of the impending Adkins sacking, for example, because we'd learned to see the intricate signs. Even then, some fans were appalled while others quickly re-adjusted after seeing how the tumblers were falling into place. The media still don't come anywhere near enough to recognise how Cortese operates. If the Norwich Chairman is anything like Cortese and his ambition he will back his manager through thick and thin, and only when the time is right, and when the right person becomes available, will Hughton be replaced, and as seamlessly as possible. But I'm sure that Norwich are a good old fashioned English club, so we'd know almost to the day if and when Hughton would be gone. I hope they keep him as he is a good manager. He just lacks a little star appeal to attract players, in my opinion.
Funny - I think the one thing Norwich fans really like about Hughton is that the quality of players he's attracted has been incredible. So much better than what we had before. As for our Chairman - he's called David McNally and is fondly (genuinely) referred to as McNasty by Norwich fans for his brutal negotiating persona. He has been fantastic and has been the hull, the rudder and the sail in our rise from near administration to where we are now. He is fantastic. If and when Hughton gets sacked by us, it will be sharp, swift and to the point. It might not be entirely unexpected (in that results would probably have been poor), but he won't **** about. It will also be relatively bloodless (as much as chopping a head off can be) and the truth will not come out easily. As you say, we will have identified the right person to replace him as available, which is the key. This is what happened when Lambert left and Hughton's steady, if unexciting, guidance has certainly saved us from the trauma of losing our best asset in Paul Lambert.
No, we don't have a trigger-happy chairman. Instead we have some trigger-happy fans. Unbelievable given how the current board have transformed the fortunes of the club in the last five years. Nor is there any lack of ambition on the part of the board, just a robust sense of how long it takes to get to where we want to be, given that we have to live entirely off the income we can generate. Chris Hughton has a three-year contract, and by keeping us up last season has already fulfilled the primary brief he was given. He has been backed in the transfer market to the maximum possible degree but he needs another summer to complete his revamp of the promotion-winning squad he inherited from Paul Lambert. And just to correct Canary Rob, David McNally is our CEO (and on the board); our Chairman being a local businessman called Bowkett.
Sorry, Robbie! Yes that is correct, but McNally's role is the closest to Cortese's. There's lots of talk, but nothing concrete. Ultimately, we have had the highest percentage attendance in the country for several years (Man U and Arsenal apparently include corporate ticket sales where people don't actually turn up...), a waiting list for season tickets in the thousands and it is impossible to buy a casual ticket, so a fan would argue that there is considerable demand for it. However, I wonder how keen the board are - it would be a big expense against a player purchase, if we went up to 35k it would fill easily for big matches, but not every match and so they wouldn't be able to justify such high prices. I think ideally most Norwich fans would like to see it at around the 35k mark, but, if it's going to happen any time soon, I imagine the board will settle for something like 30-32k
