I was going to say this! Pretty sure NLS has said a few things this window that didn't really come to fruition.
From an objective viewpoint, Moses would be pretty much the perfect ending to the window. From a foolish, illogical and slightly sentimental viewpoint just quietly bubbling under the surface of my psyche, I love all our players and I don't want our talented young attackers having more of their game time blocked. That said, I'd be flat out amazed if a bigger club didn't take him ahead of us so that's all probably irrelevant.
All the bits I've read on Moses linking him to Liverpool and others have talked about Chelsea only being interested in a loan, with a £2m loan fee. Whilst I definately think he'd add something to the squad and starting 11 I don't see this as very good value/business for us at this point. We'd lose £2m and if he performs half way decent then he'll be back at Chelsea next season/we will have to pay through the nose. A loan with an option to buy or a perm transfer yes but in terms of what I understand Chelsea want, not for me.
Really? Because I think it's unlikely either us or Liverpool would be willing to pay all of his wages. It's in Chelsea's interest to have him playing and get something for him, they're not in a position to make demands like that.
Not necessarily. It may be that they want the money now rather than as installments of saved wages throughout the season.
I'm not sure - I mean the £2m fee is probably negtioable and I'm not sure what his wages are but I can't imagine they are silly money. Liverpool, for example, want a pacey winger to take pressure off Sterling and to allow Coutinho to play centrally. Getting Moses could potentially provide their first 11 with much better balance and provide a better environment for one of their better youngsters (Sterling had bvious burn out last season). If the end result was a £2m outlay + wages similar to what they are probably paying their attacking players for a better balanced team capable of getting into europe then it's almost certainly worth it for them. Just don't think the transfer would bring the same value for us. He'd be up there with the best payed players, would probably start ahead of JRod and/or Lallana and I'm not sure would provide us with the extra boost needed to make a massive difference. Happy to be proven wrong and, granted, I am going by what hte papers are reporting Chelsea want.
It may be, I'm just saying in terms of fact that loans with a fee usually mean £100% wages payed. It's generally the case for a season long loan.
He'd make a much bigger difference to us than he would to Liverpool. And yes, if Liverpool were signing him permanently they'd give him a similar salary, doesn't mean they will pay more than they have to now. And nor will we. Chelsea might want £2m plus his wages but I very much doubt they'll get it.
I disagree. I think he'd be a better signing for Liverpool than for us just because of the balance and make up of the two squads. Also, Chelsea are in a strong negotiating position. Have already got ample replacements, window coming to a close, not many quality wingers available (certainly not on loan) and several clubs seemingly interested. I think they will get what they want.
Regarding Stefan de Vrij......He just signed a new contract in the summer as this article mentions, it also says he ruled out a move to Liverpool this summer. It was a couple of months ago but I still don't see it myself. It would also mean less playing time for Chambers or a CB. He is an exceptionally talented CB though http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/e...-says-he-is-staying-at-feyenoord-next-season/
Doing a quick Google search, the only articles that came up linked Moses to Liverpool, not us unfortunately. Not to say we're not interested, but the Liverpool link perhaps appears stronger. I didn't realise though that he's only 22! To put that into perspective, Ben Reeves is also 22 in a couple of months!
This doesn't sound logical. Surely a loan fee is instead of paying 100% wages or the fee is to get exclusivity on signing the player once the loan expires. For those without saints player, Pochettino was asked if he was interested in signing Ba. He flat out said "No" which made a few of the press boys laugh. He said he is just honest. A few minutes later in the presser another Journo asked about The reports of an enquiry for Moses on loan. Pochettino then gave a long convoluted answer about keeping an eye on the market but being happy with the squad. A lack of straight answer to that question would reveal an element of truth to the rumor
Haha....no doubt he is in a similar predicament to Billy Sharp but on a larger scale. As it's a World Cup year he might want to work something out and drop his wage. Does not strike me as an arsenal signing, I think more PSG
Well chelsea seem to be in the market of buying every attacking midfielder available, so he'll probably go there
