In some respects I suppose this thread has come about because of jealousy, I honestly wish I had more spare time to 'chew the cud' with you good folk - with this in mind, do you honestly think that YOU spend too much time on here?

    Honest answers please people...

If it wasn't for this site, I'd have finished the complete box set of Hetty Wainthropp Investigates by now (and possibly Acorn Antiques too).

It's true, there's not much there; we have a cinema and a few beaches, that's about it.

as much as i love guernsey, i thank my lucky stars that my grandparents emigrated to the mainland! **** all to do over there. family holidays consist of going to the same places over and over, you know, the little chapel, the rifle range, the strawberry farm place etc. not the best of places to live for a young person, think the average age is 40 something!!!

Honestly thought this was going to say "Self Assessment - tax doesn't have to be taxing"

Therefore, I watch too much TV.

So the answer to your question? Yes, probably.

Yes because I'm not a local in Guernsey I can only rent or buy Open Market properties, with costs starting at about 30k a year just to rent a 2 bedroom flat <grr> I've got my missus and kids living in Ireland and I commute back and forth every week because I couldn't afford to rent or buy a big enough house for us all here.
