I was half-listening to 5live the other night when they were discussing the latest England squad. They also went on to discuss young players who have psychologically struggled to get over a serious injury early in their career. I didn't catch who they were talking about but they were saying it had taken them a couple of years to get over the psychological effect. I don't know if this is Stewarts situation or whether it is down to something else, but maybe a sports psychologist could help?
Would love to see Bendtner sign for us. As others have said, he may not be a goal scoring machine but he's better than anything we've got, will be a threat from corners and may get us 10 goals per season. (Has he actually ever played a full season for anyone?) Maybe we'll sign Livermore and loan Bendtner with Arsenal getting a decent loan fee and we put in a deal to sign him on a perm if we stay up.. could see that happening.
The FAT List will have many many players that SB can go for after the window shuts if he thinks any good enough.
Someone suggested on SportsTalk that we should involved Fryatt in a swap deal for Leeds' McCormack. Thoughts? I'd certainly go for it.
Not another unproven striker please... we've taken enough risks with Prozzy & Sagbo.. We can do much better than McCormack.
He's a better player than Fryatt though. I'd go for him. He isn't as unproven as those you mentioned though, because he scores regularly in England.
I got shot down as him not being good enough when I suggested him a wee while back. I think he's a cracking little player.
He can play out wide as well, meaning if we play a front 3 of Aluko, McCormack and Brady, they can all seamlessly swap places during matches.
It would be nice to take Leeds most valued player off their hands just to let them know their place in the Yorkshire hierarchy.
If we continue to talk about him some Leeds fan will come on and say that we arnt a big enough team for him to switch to us. That they are massive and all that.
McCormack busts a gut with tracking back and liked getting stuck in, him and Brady would be a brilliant first line of defence. They always say you get fewer chances in the Prem and have to take them, I've always thought of him as a really clinical finisher.
I just remembered - didn't some Leeds bloke come on here a month ago and say that he was better than Aluko?
The more I think about this one the more I like it. McCormack is more of an instinctive finisher than anyone we've been linked with and he will be hungry to make his name in the Prem. Go get him Brucey.
I doubt that.. when they know one of our players is blatantly better than theirs, they just call our player overrated.
If I was a neutral, I'd be willing to pay more for McCormack than Aluko. Aluko had a great 6 months in the championship after an impressive stint in the SPL, where Chris Commons is a world beater. McCormack has been consistently great in the championship for years and looks better every season.
