If only to get the media off Moyes back, it won't be a bad thing. Also a new face in the dressing room is always a good thing. Moyes has worked with him so knows how to get the best out of him.

Martinez has re-iterated that there has been no new bids & the story about Baines asking to leave is also horse ****.
I think there is no much time left for making a 2nd bid and waiting for a reply, there is big possibility the 2 clubs in negotiation at the moment to agree an acceptable fee, neither me or you know what is happening .. so let us wait and see how it will ends, rushing into conclusion atm is just premature
The clubs are not negotiating a fee, Martinez was 100% clear on that yet again this morning.
That's not to say that you won't come back between now & Monday with another offer, but given your starting point was £28m & Kenwright will be lynched if he sells for less than around the £40m mark, then I can't see you closing that gap in the timeframe left.

I think we'll sign Fellaini but not Baines as the latter won't cause a fuss for Everton whereas I suspect the former will.

Based on the fact that he's said **** all on the subject all summer, he's trained every day, played every game & given solid performances to boot, I think that view might be a bit harsh on the lad. I think if he was going to rear up, he'd have done it by now.
To be honest with you, I'd be most surprised if both Fellaini and Baines did not end up with United by the 2nd September. It might take up to midnight (or whatever the deadline is) but it will show terrible incompetence from both Woodward and Moyes if for the sake of a few measly millions they missed out on players we want...
