2 wins and the 2nd highest on the grid against Kimi with many years to go.

I think I pointed out his record back when everyone's predictions were for Kimi and Hamilton... Vettel does very well around Spa. I think it's because while there's a lot of straights there's also so many fast, high-downforce corners.

In both years he had a dominant car advantage. Winning doesn't make him a Spa specialist.

Scored a podium in 2009, came back from 10th on the grid to finish second last year. It's not just the wins that are taken into account here.

Also do Red Bull have a dominant car advantage? Despite Vettel's win, Webber could only manage 5th. The general impression I got was that Mercedes were meant to have caught up and Hamilton would dominate this race...

I thought there was a lot of (talk) from your side (the tifosi) and the media that the cars would be more "equal" this year as the regulations "had hit their peak?" and that Alonso was going to mop the floor with Vettel finally, considering his form and that the car in 2012 was (in Alonso's opinion) slower than a Force India... Since Alonso's form stagnated and Vettel's improved when they were given better cars for 2013, who really had the worse car of the 2 the previous year?

Did those excuses go out of the window before or after Vettel dominated the grid again?

I am sure mercedes had the wrong setup for that race. They gambled on the wet/dry setup and as we found out there was not a drop if rain. Red Bull had a right And we saw they had the speed advantage over mercedes which isn't usual so it had to be mercedes setup for rain. I am sure that if it had rained Red Bull would have had some problems but it didnt and they called it correctly. It would have been interesting if the qualifying was dry and Ferrari was closer to the front... I think Ferrari would have run them down to the flag. But as I said before..Red Bull called it correctly so all power to them.

Takes more than a couple of easy wins to be considered a 'king'.

I'd also say that Spa is not the challenge to drivers it once was with the current crop of cars. Eau Rouge is now flat for everyone, years ago anyone who took that corner flat would place his balls out on top of the cockpit first to show he had given it a go.

Pouhon and Blanchimont are also almost flat now, years ago drivers would be on the ragged edge holding on around those corners, now its just normal.
