Word is that he's about to join Chelsea. No word from Anzhi or Chelsea yet but I'd expect something soon. Perhaps inevitable given we got Willian for the cut price of £25.5m.

A little underwhelming but gives us more leverage re: other strikers. Think we need to sell Torres, Ba & Moses and get in another CB and Jackson Martinez.

We do that and I for one will be very confident about our chances this season. Don't think we really need a CB though.

We probably don't but you know my opinion of Cahill <laugh>

Both Torres and Ba have to go, IMO. But I'd sooner see Ba gone first.

Haha true! But I think the only way we're getting a CB is if Luiz went which won't happen!

Luiz is now going to Man Utd, according to "the papers". Seems all you need to do is make up a load of old tosh, and bingo, you get a job in "the papers"
I think Luiz is exactly Joses kind of player, skilful, full of running , works his arse off, full of passion, and able to learn and improve, even under a dunce like Rafa. Can't wait to see how much he will improve under Jose.
Also hold some hope that Cahill just might get back some form as well. That would be a bonus.

Lets just hit Porto with a triple deal, Mangala, Martinez and Atsu. Solve all our problems and get a young prospect on board

In fairness, it was 8 years ago and seems to be more of a 'heat of the moment' comments after being dumped out in a tight encounter.

Got to admit, I'm surprised your going for Eto'o, especially at 32, is he really needed at Chelsea?

I dont care how long ago it was.
Dont want this silly cnut at my club.....he isn't half the striker he was 5 years ago.
I'd have rather we bought Suarez, and thats saying something.

He's scored goals for fun his whole career, some players just have it, like Henrik Larsson, Eto'o's drawback is he's a bit of a twat by all accounts, not a particularly nice fella, but I think he'll score plenty of goals for you.

Yeah not sure about this one. Although Jose may have had his way to get him so he must know what he's doing. Exit, at the very least, Ba.

Not sure what we are getting as haven't seen hardly anything of him these last couple of years. However he was without doubt one of the best around whilst at Barca and to an extent Inter as well. Could be a shrewd bit of business. He's still 'only' 32 and If he's as good as a 32 year old Drogba we'll all be very happy!!

Hopefully an upgrade on Ba. Has bucket loads of experience and has won everything out there.

That doesnt happen too often mate.
I think the guy is a prized bell end and cannot stand him, but like they say, if he starts scoring goals and winning us games, my opinion of him will change.

Good buy, better than what we have up front right now.

Not only that but it's a completely risk free transfer.

I'm a subscriber to the philosophy you don't necessarily have to like someone to work with them.
I remember this kid I used to play football with; he was an absolute dick and I wasn't the only one who thought so. He was also the best player in the team though, so we put up with his twattishness and were quite successful as a result. The good news is, that kid got fat and works as a bin man now.

Anyway, I'm happy with Eto'o. We really need a striker and there aren't many options available right now without having to pay silly money.
He's only a short term signing but that will suit us for now.

I'll wait and see but I still remember the complete overreaction on here after we signed Ba which got even worse after the Southampton game.
After a dozen games we'll have an idea.

Free transfer for a player that has a relationship with the existing manager, no brainer for me.

He'll get us goals, no mistake.

Still buzzing about Willian...when Shaktar played us at home that time he bossed it, and away but I wasn't there to see that!
