Tom Collomosse @TomCStandard As well as Lamela/Vlad/Eriksen, Spurs trying for Coentrao and Alvaro Vadillo. I could see another forward too if they can lose Adebayor. Gianluca Di Marzio ✔ @dimarzio Three players on medical now for @SpursOfficial: #lamela, #chiriches and #eriksen too. #footballtransfers
http://www.givemesport.com/373765-liverpool-make-offer-for-dynamo-kyiv-star?autoplay=on Liverpool have reportedly made a £19.7m bid for Dynamo Kyiv striker Andriy Yarmolenko, as Brendan Rodgers looks for final additions before Monday's transfer deadline. The Ukrainian player, who has previously been dubbed 'the new Shevchenko' has made 173 appearances for the club, scoring 55 goals. Yarmolenko had been tipped for a move to Shevchenko's former club AC Milan but now it seems the Merseysiders have stepped up their interest in the forward after losing out in the chase for Anzhi Makhachkala's Willian. Despite being only 23-years-old, the Ukrainian already has 32 caps for the national side and has notched an impressive 11 goals during that time also. Mikhail Gulordava, the player's representative said: "He would like to follow in the footsteps of Andriy Shevchenko. Premier League clubs are also interested." Yarmolenko came through the youth set-up at Kyiv and has been tipped for the top since his debut in May 2008, making a big impression with his impressive technical attributes, allied to blistering pace and power. A Ukrainian Premier League winner in 2008/09, the winger looks destined for bigger things and will get the chance to impress a wider audience if a deal can be struck with Liverpool in the coming days.
14.46 BST: More news for Arsenal fans. The Gunners are reportedly preparing to make an offer to Juventus for Fabio Quagliarella.
Sky Italia reporter Di Marzio (the guys who's called pretty much all of Tottenhams transfers) says we should sign Sakho soon. Gianluca Di Marzio ‏@dimarzio 1h #Sakho future: @OfficialASRoma talked to him but he could (and should) sign with @LFC soon. #footballtransfers
Yup. Instead of looking forward we look back. Yes our squad is better than last seasons' and we have "closed the gap" but only in relation to Spurs' squad last season - in reality their moves this summer have left us further in their wake. As if Aspas and Alberto can be expected to get us 4th. And cou and Sturridge are a breath of fresh air, but again cannot be expected to scrap and claw us 4th place, we lack real depth and options. Doesn't help as well that I have no confidence in that **** Suarez too, just our luck that he goes and has a piss average season.
All this talk about Spurs spending a shed load of cash just because RM are being dumb asses is really pissing me off. Lets tall about us and who we aren't signing
Spoke to my mate at lunchtime. 1. Forget Yarmolenko 2. Forget Alderweirald 3. Ilori likely still 4. Shay Given as back-up to Ming 4. Sakho highly unlikely 5. Cissohko and Toure deffo out for the weekend.
I don't doubt it. I thought it was the fee that we were haggling over? They're saying in Holland it's closer to £12M. Either way seems like decent value considering the inflated transfer fees being spent this window.
Here's my dog want to kick him too?? So the same mistakes from last year are happening again? Brilliant.
So if the highly "risky" Eriksen gets bought for a whopping £12million this is how it compares to our past purchases 1 Christian Eriksen = 1)1 Fabio Borini or, 2) 1/3 of Andy Caroll, or 3) 2/3 of Joe Allen, or 4) 1 Raul Meireles And that's just a small selection of all the players who were older and/or riskier and/or crapper than Eriksen yet which we paid more for. IN other words, even if he sits on the bench for a year, why the **** aren't we bidding for Eriksen?!??! He has such potential and is a young lad. Plus Gerrard isn't getting any younger and Allen isn't getting any better Negativity rant over.
Well they are basically going to have a new team of players that play in all sorts of different leagues so its not a given that they will just go on some title run. Let's concentrate on us and our results and the table will show itself at the end of the season. If we can wrap up Sakho and Yarmolenko then things look a bit better with Suarez coming back soon as well.
FFS, how many of you would be moaning about squad depth had we not picked up three injuries in midweek? Isn't injuries why we need a squad? We have players for the weekend, hell we even have options. The only issue is we don't have our preferred starting eleven and we are playing our biggest (depending on where you're from) rivals next!
