More importantly, Spring Bank West. Who uses the West part? And why is it that the longer part of the road is the one that has the distinction put on it. Surely the big bit should be Spring Bank and the short bit (from town to Princes Ave) should be the one with something stuck on the end to make it unique? Just Rebrand it all as Spring Bank anyway.
That name is for the old Traditionalists, the modernists changed it to Kingston. Anyway, regarding the poll its name is 'The Avenue'. Fine pub for one of my pre-match drinks.
The name displays seasonist prejudice - it should currently be Summer Bank, shortly to become Autumn Bank, and so on.
I'd just like a huge neon sign that says "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here". Or a signal that sets off away fans sat navs that says "You are now entering a restricted area. You are doing so at your own risk."
I suppose Spring Band West could be re-branded as Spring Bank, then the present Spring Bank could be re-branded as Spring Bank East.
Sully got lucky. RL was in fashion when the road was getting built late 70s early 80s. Had it been built ten years earlier, there would have been no mention of an RL player. Ten years ago, we might have had Paul Cook Way. This crazy town.
Naming them "east bank" and west bank" only works if Botanic crossing (that isn't) gets rebranded as the gaza strip. What about "Spring Bank West" staying as is,and we celebrate the uprising by having Arab Spring Bank?
Has there been any kind of ‘Kick it Out’ campaign in RL? Or calls for more black managers/ increased British-Asian participation?
