I can't see Hernandez wanting to join us or being allowed to either, but Man Utd started three strikers against Chelsea and he wasn't one of them.
He seems to have an injury, but don't all players that are linked with a move! <laugh>

That might not be such a bad idea, especially on loan.
I'd love to get a relationship going with Ajax, we should dump RM. Ajax have a good academy and that is something that is important to us. Our academy is improving too from what i've seen. I think players could go both ways depending on which positions are lacking in both teams.

We could loan you Tom Carroll, instead. He'd probably suit the way that you play actually, but he operates a little deeper than Eriksen.

    Hi SG

I think Gomes has the ability to be 2nd choice, but it seems he's now Spurs history.

Brad is 42, and there is a massive gap between him and Hugo now.

Would any Spurs fan be happy to see Brad or Gomes in goal on Sunday?

I certainly wouldn't, and I think it would turn a likely draw into a defeat.

We don't have much cover for Soldado, but we could play JD up there, and I'd still fancy us for a draw. We could rearrange our tactics slightly and I reckon we'd get away with it.

But to bring in Brad means the high line is massively exposed, and it's pretty unlikely we can play any other way at such short notice and effectively.

To me, lose Hugo and we'll drop crucial points while he's out. Points that could easily prevent CL.

As to who we can get in, I don't know. But there must be a young decent home-grown Championship player out there who'd join us for double their wages, or even an established one.

Incidentally, I'd love Chico from Utd, to me he's an upgrade on JD, and we could then see that potential weak area repaired.

It's been mentioned that holtby doesn't exactly look after himself at good As he could.
It might be that we're loaning him out as AVB doesn't feel that he's making the effort since joining us?

The focus seems to be on sig and his departure, but holtby shouldn't be written off.

The Fail are suggesting that Palace want either Tom Carroll on loan or Villa's Barry Bannan (remember him?) on the cheap.
Might be an idea for them to get both, but I think we should make Holloway issue an apology to us as part of any deal, just for a laugh.

Tom Carroll is better than Barry Banana. Barry Banana is one of the worst players i've seen in the prem. I swear in a match vs Liverpool last season he didn't even get up to a jog, let alone anything more.

I'll happily "vouch" and put my Not606 rep on the line (<laugh>) and say Eriksen will be a success providing he gets the game time.

The Eredivisie is the only league I watch regularly outside of the English leagues and Ajax is the team I "support" so to speak, mainly due to the fact they too have Jewish roots like us, have chants of "Super Joden" (Super Jews) and play good football. Eriksen is arguably the Eredivisie's best player. His technique is superb, yes the defending over there isn't great but if you watch his vision and ability to pass into the tightest of spaces, the defending quality would be irrelevant against such pin point passing. He has a great set piece delivery and has also upped his goals tally so we could be signing him in at an ideal time. I've said before, he seems a sort of Luka/ Rafa hybrid in my opinion. You won't see him track back and make last ditch tackles but that's what Sandro/ Capoue and even Paulinho are for.

I'm sure Cove could give a better analysis of him but I'd like to think I've covered most aspects.

The reason I put that part in bold, is because I don't agree, mainly because the better defending overall, the harder it is it show pin point passing, not to mention he will be closed down quicker, but anyhow mate thats just my view, not saying I'm right as until I see him in action, or WE see him in action we can't fully make a solid judgement on the player.

I know we have a few posters on here that follow the dutch league, but from what I've see I think views get slightly exaggerated as its an entertaining league yet really short on defensive quality and I fully expect players like Bony and Alitdore to be shown up.

Eriksen is someone I've heard of, see play at national level, seen play the odd occasion for Ajax and may well be the leagues biggest natural talent but I have to see these players perform over here, as he could be a flop, he could be inconsistent, he could be just like Dembele in the sense has the odd awesome game, but goes missing for large chunks of the game, as players change when they play in a tougher league.

....but I hope your rep is safe LOL

The closing down from midfielders will be something Eriksen won't be used to but I do believe the calibre of CB is irrelevant when you're against someone with his vision. I'm not saying he's in the same league as them but he has vision that you'd associate with players like Xavi, Iniesta, Xabi Alonso, Modric, Fabregas, Pirlo etc. Give him a second or two on the ball and he'll spot the runs by Soldado/ Chadli/ Lamela, Lennon/ Defoe/ Townsend and so on and then likely find them.

I too hope it's safe, otherwise these could be my last few weeks/ months on the forum <laugh>
