Count me out. I placed my prediction before kick off and should have been given 7 points. The clock was ****ed last season, then it was fixed. Now, it seems to be ****ed, once more...only the warning from Spurf came so late in the day as to be useless to anyone checking after 11:37pm, my time. My prediction was made not only before kick-off - but before the teams had even run out onto the field.
Hey sheikh reconsider mate, have a look at the first two match threads where the rules are laid out. There is a clockwarning right there. The one on the last thread is simply a reminder. You have played this league from the beginning it would be a shame to pack it in over one missed prediction.
Here's the rule: 2. Your prediction must be made before the kick-off, if you are 1 minute past the start of the game (as shown by your post time) it will not be counted. BEWARE the not606 clock is often slow and this is the clock you are timed by.
My point is that I DID make my prediction before the kick-off and even before the teams took to the field (having set my alarm to wake up in time). And, given that YOU know the not clock is fast (some 7 minutes fast, it now seems), then you also know that my prediction was made before kick off. It's not as though I tried to cheat (I'm not a gooner). It's degrading for me not to be in the top flight (I'm no Redknapp, either). The irony is, that if the clock WAS slow, as you mentioned it often is, then my prediction could have been made AFTER kick off and it would still be accepted, since it might show 2:55 (uk time), when, in fact it could really be 3:02pm and the game would be in progress. I've been screwed because the clock was FAST.
sheikh I can't believe we are having this discussion. I think you may be taking this all a tad too seriously. This is not a new rule and you are not a new player, you have been in the league since it began. A game like this only makes sense if the few rules that it includes are followed. You have usually a week to place your prediction so if you chose to wait until the the team is anounced that is an advantage over earlier predictors but at the same time you risk being too late, it's part of the game. Bear in mind also that I am not always on line at kick off so I have no other way of being able to monitor prediction times than the not606 clock, hence the rule. You are not the first player to fall foul of this rule nor will you be the last so come on mate this is a bit of fun, place your prediction and forget it. You have aeons of time to catch up and most players miss predictions at some point.
just make the prediction and hour or a day ahead. I just do mine whenever the thread goes up or i'll forget. "It's degrading for me not to be in the top flight" - Sorry, but that is just LOL
Okay then - because you do a lot of work, each season: arsenal 1:2 TOTENHAM HOTSPUR Vertonghen, Soldado
I think we might see the return of 4-4s for us but since I'm optimistic I'll go for 4-3 with a very late Holtby winner. Plus the Soldado hattrick which is definitely going to happen some point soon.
