    Morning Folks,

Leeds have been drawn against Newcastle, away from home in the next round of the Capital One Cup. Can anyone see us progressing to the next round?

It sounds like Alex Mowatt is not far away from breaking into the first team, and will probably continue to play in Cup games, though the Newcastle game may be a little too soon.

A name that has been strongly linked to us is QPR's Hogan Ephraim. He's a 25yo winger. I know he had a short loan spell with us 3 or 4 years ago, must admit, didn't think much of him then. Thoughts???

Would we think that we are going to keep hold of the players that we want to keep hold of???

What is a 3.5m offer comes in for McCormack, what would you do??? What about if a 5.5m offer comes in for Byram???

Morning all. Looking forward to the barcodes as they're **** and we have a realistic chance of turning them over maybe on penalties. Byram and mc Cormack not for sale in my books at any money. McCormack tweeted last night he was looking forward to what he hoped would be a big day today. Make of that what you like. Can't see qpr selling or loaning anyone to us. Surely they would see us as promotion contenders and hardly likely to help strengthen our team

Morning Mr Back. Please don't wreck my day by specuating that we might get a bid worth considering for either Ross or Sam. £3.5m for Ross from a PL team, as opposed to the likes of 'Boro, might be worth considering. The only problem would now be timing. Wouldn't allow enough time for BMD to get a suitable replacement. Same goes even more for Byram, although I don't think we should consider anything less than £8m for Byram given that he will hav a resale value for any buying club.

Pity the Barcodes game is on a Tuesday night. A bit far to come to then have to take the sleeper & go straight into work. Should be a good game. Would be even better if we got a draw and took them back to ER for the replay. Doubt we'll win at their place, but you never know. lLoud choruses of "sacked in the morning...." if we did win. Think though that Pardew will put out a strong side because its their one chance of a trophy this season.

    Good moaning all:

£3.5m for Ross, snap their hands off and run. £5m for Byram tell them to fook off as he'll be worth at least double that once he's helped us into the prem and established himself in the full England squad. He'll be a star and worth much dinero later and we need to keep our best young talent now to show that we are not a selling club anymore. Ross isn't the same and we can get another decent striker for that cash.

Alex Mowatt I believe is in the first team squad as of now and expect to see him on the bench a lot this season, and should get some game time too. Well done kid and BMD for having some balls.

As for Ephraim??? well if the manager knows him and has seen something then I'll go with it as I want to trust the manager. Lets be honest he's not panick bought anyone has he, not like the last 2 blokes. If his targets are not there he wont bother or if he hasn't the cash he wont jump and buy someone whos not in his thoughts, he'll try and use what we have and bring through the kids.

Morning all!! Newcastle a winnable tie for sure, also should bring in some nice extra revenue. We must keep Ross at least until January. If a deal is to be done, McD can then eye up a replacement in good time. Byram won't be sold at this point, he won't pass a medical, but he may well be the subject of serious bids in January.

    Morning all
Andrew Haigh tweeted Ross is signing a new contract today, ties in with Ross's tweet last night. Happy with drawing the barcodes as I was born up there and my fathers a fan. Thankfully my dad was in the RAF and moved us to Yorkshire before i turned one or else I could of ended up in the Toon Army!!!

Doc/Elland, I don't think £3.5m for Ross at this stage of the window would be worth considering. Beginning of August, maybe. But not now. More to the point, why would we want to sell him? He put in a stella performance on Tuesday and looks to be really enjoying his free role at the head of a diamond formation. I actually hope we extend his contract and he ends up showing Howson & co. what they're missing as we get back into the PL and Norwich drift back the other way.

This is a quote from Billyisgod on Waccoe this morning aswering a question from last nights trust meeting.
'white length i spoke to Paul Hunt before the meeting and he did hope this coming weekend would be a busy one so fingers crossed. Paul is a breath of fresh air, i cant speak highly enough of him and the confidence he fills me with, he really is the future of Leeds United and potentially could go down as one of the greats at the helm of our club.'
Sounds not only like we are going to try and get some business done but we have good people running our club. Time for some people to stop knocking GFH and judge them in a year or two.

I'll admit, i was one of the gfh half sceptics but will have 100% confidence in them if Ross signs a new contract. It will send a big warning message to the vultures that have picked at our carcas for the past eight years to fook off

I'll believe it when I see it Eire, but I really like the implications in your post. If Ross signs today, even the JA whingers might have to shut up for a while as the Bates era and all that went with it can finally be put to bed. It'll show, as you say, that we no longer have to sell, although the Bale situation shows that every club have their price for any of their players. At least we would be getting proper money for our players in the future.

That's the point Boggers. It wouldn't upset me really if we got daft money by our standards like Bale and wee able to finance half a team with it like Spuds have done. What has peed me off down the years is giving away our talent or the odd time we got a decent few bob like Delph it disappeared up Bates hairy hole anyway

Looking forward to the barcode match as it will be great watching their manager kick the **** out of their former failed manager who's now in overall charge of team policy. Which players decide to play will also be good to see, as it seems like the French contingent turn up and do what they want and some of them won't play if they don't like the team shirt. It's a lash up north of Gateshead so is a winnable match for us.

Thought that was the case RMINFS, but I thought I'd check. Either way, should be a good game that we can show how far we have progressed. More to the point, it's also a winnable game given the state of Toon footy these days.

You don't know them very well, do you? <laugh>. Only way I can read JA is to have half of them on filter

The Paul Hunt feedback sounds good, too. There are a lot of liittle pieces of the jigsaw that are starting to sound good. Its probably no more than being a proper businesslike football club again, but its so refreshing.

and BM was at READING in one job or another for about 12 years (I think?) - would be nice to think it might be the same here, and he might be starting a Revie-like tenure with us, with Revie-like success too, of course<ok>

Makes you realise just how crappy the club was run under Bates. Most of us feared as much but few realised just how bad

Point noted 2020. Can't be ar&ed with filtering. I chip in occasionally. But most of the time its all way to negative and ill-informed for me to be bothered to contribute.

Interesting point you make about BMD & his long tenure at Reading. If GHF give him time, he really does have the opportunity to build a legacy. I only hope that if we go up and then get relegated the following season, GHF give him an opportunity to try again. What we don't want is regular changes of manager & the upheaval that that brings.
