Considering that we've lost the manager, the 2 CB's, the front 3(4 if you include both the Harriotts) and Jordan Cousins it was quite a decent performance. Fox has been moved to CB, a move clearly designed to confuse the opposition due to his similarity in appearance to Harry Lennon. The goal was scored by Munns, who reacted quickly after their goalie spilled a low shot. Munns also came closest to scoring the winner, when a clever flick was cleared off the line. Munns had a good game working very hard in midfield, but my MOM was Poyet. Steve Gritt was there as usual, and it might be a good move if Ebbsfleet took him on loan. Pigott was also there and I'm sure we'd have won if he'd been playing because Azeez and Sho-Silva, despite playing well and causing a lot of problems, didn't have their shooting boots on. With 10 minutes or so left the referee's attention was drawn by the lino, and he red-carded Harry Gerrard for goodness knows what. After that it was backs to the wall, and Dillon Phillips made a truly magnificent save to preserve a point.
Do you think Poyet is far behind Cousins in terms of breaking through to the first team or do you think we wont see him there until 2014 at the very earliest?
Thanks for the report FHB Good to hear Poyet is still doing well. I doubt he'll get much of a look in for the first team, sadly, as Powell wouldn't play 2 youngsters in central midfield at the same time (Cousins). Somewhere on loan would indeed be good for him.
Hardly seen Cousins this season, but when they played together in the U-21's at the end of last season I thought Poyet seemed the more influential of the two.
Thanks for the update Billy. What's your opinion on Morgan Fox, mate ? I saw him pre season at Welling, and to be honest I was really disappointed. It could have been a one off poor game, but I thought he was poor. Will he make it ?
Yeah the Welling full-back skinned him 2 or 3 times. I wonder if that's anything to do with him being moved to CB? I don't think he'll make it with us at LB, because apart from Wiggins and Evina, we've got Holmes-Dennis then Edwardes coming through. Edwardes is the one to watch- I can't remember seeing such natural positional play in a 16-year-old.
Of the subs Doherty, Ahearne-Grant, Henry-Francis, Daniels, Thomas..... it seems that Daniels was this guy http://www.newsshopper.co.uk/sport/10651761._/ is Henry-Francis the Marcel Henry-Francis from Birmingham? and who is Thomas? Doherty and Ahearne-Grant are from the U18's
.... from his Twitter he seems friends with Kadell Daniel so I presume it is. Don't these kids write a load of pretentious drivel on twitter? They would be better off spending their time practising their Cruyff turns in the back yard or reading a junior school introduction to the English language.
Thomas is presumably Terrell Thomas from the u18s. Ahearne-Grant is actually an u16, was the u18s top scorer last season while only an u15.
On the subject of the U21's.....I would like to get down to Sparrows Lane and watch a game between now and christmas. However, with only three days of annual leave remaining I will have to be selective. Does anyone know where I can find a fixture list for the U21's? I dont remember ever seeing one on the OS
