Roo, you remember those people ITK who said, our spending wasn't related to the Bale transfer? well I hope you have placed them in the BS draw.
The Gooners must be pulling their hair out over these brilliant signings we are making. On their board, they are coming out with all their usual gibberish, trying to pretend that we haven't massively strengthened over them and giving it large about still being better than us, but it's patently obvious that all of that is mere bravado, and that deep inside each and every one of them is a frightened little child crying for its mummy.
Alderweireld and Finnbogason have been linked lately with a lot of clubs. Dutch media are almost certain Alderweireld will leave Ajax this weekend. A lot is happening but I can't post everything on here, just follow me on twitter to get all the updates. @thecovereport
http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...o-totti--nears-move-to-tottenham-8787797.html Nice article on Lamela.
Balls to the goons. I have a gut feeling Lamela and Soldado are going to work well together but I'd still feel better with a second out and out striker and I don't mean Ade or Defoe, it's time they both left. I'm trying to work out whether Daws is the best man to captain our new signings. I need to put the thinking cap on.
Fair comment SOS, maybe it'll be a wage and fee overal 'neutral' window then, more or less. Normally I would moan like Billyo, if that was the case, but as long as the correct replacements for Bale Gomes BAE and maybe Ade are got in, then I'll be happy for once with our dealings.
Sorry Dave, but you're one of several people to have posted that update in the last couple of hours, myself included. In other news, has anyone heard anything about this link with some Danish player from Ajax? Any good?
Exactly. It's a contractual issue. It's not usually a breach of contract to request early termination of the contract by consent. You could possibly try to make it a breach of contract, but there would be no loss associated with it so it would seem like a pointless exercise. It must be a contractual provision linked to some kind of incentive arrangement, which would fit in with the suggestion someone made earlier that it's linked to a performance bonus. Whether not failing to turn up to training forfeits the performance bonus as well, will also be a matter of construing the contract terms.
The trail went cold, AC Milan is playing PSV in San Siro as we speak so all the Dutch media are focussing on that right now.
Erik Lamela spoke to Ansa in Fiumicino airport: "I'm ready for Tottenham, I want do great things for Spurs. And thank you, Roma
Will be very happy if Lamela, Eriksen and Cheriches come in as Bale leaves. One individual leaves and we inherit a MUCH stronger squad.
Come on PSV! Well, it's not often you sell a player for a world record fee... Wish we did it regularly
Some twat has just tweeted that he has pictures of Erik Lamela at T5, I hope the contract is signed, sealed and delivered. Roman 'if my team doesn't win I'm taking my ball home' Abramovic might be watching Edit: Pictures all over the twatersphere now
Bloody hell, just like last week, 1 chance, 1 goal for Milan, 1-0 after 9 minutes. Nothing on Eriksen in the past two hours.
what have we made in sales roughly? £25m? + bale @ 90m? £115m roughly? purchases now total: 90m? we've still got players coming in (Likely). - Chiriches 8m. Eriksen 12m so we've made about £5m, before another new striker and a LB. we could easily spend 25-30mill on those two, so finally we might see a net spend!!! so, yeah you're right. it'd appear on the face of things that there was no war chest. However, at one point, i think the club was prepared to make a significant dent in the finances, before we'd decided to sell Bale. By the way, has anyone mentioned that Roma have a statement on their website about Lamela joining us? Also, We've been given permission to talk to Eriksen according to Overmars.
